as I hold out my hand. “Come on, baby.”
She can’t possibly hear me, but she doesn’t have to. Eve is pushing her toward me. She slaps her hand away and takes mine as I drag her onstage. Catcalls and screaming wrap around us, and I take the microphone from Rhys.
Holding up my hand, I let the crowd worship us as I say, “I wrote that song as I watched this woman sleep. I didn’t even know what I was feeling at the time. All I knew was this song needed to come out. I didn’t believe in love.”
The crowd boos and screams. I laugh as that old adrenaline of having the audience in the palm of your hands snakes its way through my blood.
“I didn’t. But the words in my head did. I put on paper everything I should have said to her. So, for all you assholes out there who don’t believe in love…”
She covers her mouth as she looks out at all the people clapping and turns back to me.
I get down on one knee and audible gasps come from the crowd. Granger has a phone out recording me. Even Ammo is cheering as he strums a dramatic note. But all I see is her, dancing at the club, laughing, crying. All of these moments are in my heart. I’ve kept them all and I rub my chest as I say the words I never dreamed would come out of my mouth.
“Antoinette, you are my everything. Will you marry me?”
She bites her bottom lip and nods. “Yes, yes! I love you so much.”
The crowd goes wild and Ammo and Cash start playing “Here Comes the Bride” as she launches herself at me and the microphone drops. I catch her and hold her face.
“I love you. You truly are my everything.”
Leaning down, I take what’s mine, what has always been mine. Her legs wrap around my waist as I deepen the kiss until the catcalling and fuck her start to filter in.
The keyboard starts playing “Untouched,” and the crowd sings the first verse. I pull back and smile.
“They’re playing our song.” My thumbs wipe away her tears. This was not my plan, but fuck it. I wink at her as she runs to Blade and Eve. Ammo walks over and hands me his guitar. I grab his hand again. As I put the strap over my head, it’s clear the crowd loves it.
Nuke stands up and yells, “RockGod Twins. RockGod Twins…”
They eat it up, chanting and screaming. It’s fucking mayhem, but I smile, looking over at her.
“This is for you, baby.” My fingers start to play, and I close my eyes, letting the world be mine.
When I open them, everything is silent as I look at her and sing.
“I’m undone by her eyes, her lips, and her smell.
She’s mine.
Untouched.
Touched by me.”

Blade McCormick is not a nice guy. He’s pure adrenaline and smells like smoke and leather—the kind of guy you look at and know he’s going to be a combination of nasty and irresistible. The moment I allowed myself to touch his hot skin and kiss his full lips, I. Was. Done.
Like currency, I’ve become part of a transaction. Blade took me to pay off a debt. I try to tell myself, Eve, you should hate him. He’s a bad guy. But then again, I’m not a good girl. Blade’s the president of the Disciples, the notorious motorcycle club. I should be frightened, yet somehow, he doesn’t scare me. If anything, I think I scare him.
It takes a lot of work to become the club’s Queen, but I’ll stop at nothing to have the King!
ATONE
I don’t apologize or regret the destruction I’m about to cause. I’m at peace with what I must do… nothing can or will stand in my way. Not even the raven-haired beauty with golden eyes who haunts my dreams.
No one is innocent in the story of my life. Fairy tales don’t exist!
I. Make. No. Excuses.
Everyone needs to atone, and I’m the man who is going to see to it.
REPENT
There are two sides to every story.
