here, the whole nine.
“Not before you have a drink with me. Have a seat.”
“Let me put some clothes on.”
“Sit down, Shorty. The sooner you have this drink, the sooner I can leave. We fucked before, remember? I’ve seen all you have to offer.” He was being a little too laid-back for me.
I hated this nigga and was a glad to see the burner in his waist. I thought maybe I could take it from him and blow his fucking brains out. I looked him over. He had lost a little weight, and I noticed that his voice was raspy, and he had a large scar at the base of his throat. I couldn’t help but crack on him. “So it looks like you wear your scars well.”
KYRON
I smiled. Shorty still had a sense of humor. However, through the tough exterior, I could see that she was nervous. She was puzzled about how I found her or why I was there. I’d let her figure it out, since she had so many jokes. I went over and popped the wine bottle.
“Can I at least have my breakfast before it gets cold?”
“Sure.” I waited as she got up, picked up her trays, and set them on the table. Then I filled both of our glasses with wine.
“You know what? Forget it. You messed up my appetite. As a matter of fact, you messed up my day, my marriage, you name it. Let’s drink to that, muthafucka! Since you want to drink to something.” She came charging at me. I grabbed our drinks and set them on the table before she could get to me. I turned around, lifted her up, and to her surprise, set her on top of the table, too.
I stood between her legs and stared into her eyes. I was excited to finally have this time with Shorty. “Relax,” I said as I sat in the chair in front of her. I pulled my burner from my waist and set it on the chair next to me and slid it under the table. If she had plans on snatching it out of my waist, she had to come up with another one.
“Kyron, why are you here?”
I passed her the glass that I’d poured for her, and I picked up the other one and tapped it against her glass. It was time for a toast. “To life.” I sipped my drink.
“To death. Specifically, yours,” Tasha said, and she took several sips of her wine. “Okay, we had our drink, so now can you leave?”
“Not until you drink up.” I took another sip and then placed my hand on the bottom of her glass, easing it toward her lips.
“I swear, you fucked up my day, my whole vacation.” She drank the last of what was in her glass. “Does your girl know that you’re here fuckin’ with me?”
“She knows what she needs to know.”
“What is she saying about you constantly fuckin’ with me?”
I removed the blunt and the lighter from inside my vest.
“Why are you getting comfortable? You said a drink, not a smoke. And how do you expect to smoke with a hole in your neck?” She chuckled. “Seriously, you need to be seeing your way out, Kyron.”
“I thought you wanted to know what my girl had to say about me fuckin’ with you?”
“I’ve changed my mind. I really don’t give a fuck what she thinks. Can you leave now?” Tasha asked.
I saw sweat beads beginning to form on her shoulders. It was about to be on.
TASHA
When he had took the gun out of his waist, I thought it was over for me. I just knew that this crazy nigga had come to kill me once and for all. But when he set the gun on the chair, I exhaled. I was still scared, so I kept running my mouth. But now there I was, sitting on top of the table with only a towel wrapped around me.
“Can I turn up the air? It is getting warm in here.” I unwrapped the towel from around my head and began fanning myself with my hand.
“You’ll be all right.”
“What is that supposed to mean?” He lit his blunt. “I’m not smoking with you, Kyron. I had the drink, and now I would like for you to leave. You are making me very uncomfortable.”
He took a pull, held it in, and then released the smoke. “How uncomfortable do you think I felt laying up in that hospital bed?” He took another pull and
