Are you blind? How would you not know a guy was Indian?”
“Because his mom’s a White girl and his dad’s a Hindu from Uttar Pradesh.”
“What does he consider himself?”
“American.”
“And how did your date go?”
“Best. Date. Ever. My Gods, Savi, I think I’m in love.”
She chuckles. “Hita, it was one date.”
“Savi, we’ve been friends for two years. It’s so strange, I know so much about him. Not the things you tell people about yourself, but the core of who he is and how he thinks. We moved from friends to intense in one weekend. I didn’t think anything like this existed.”
“Oh, girlfriend, you are smitten. Now you finally understand what happened when I met Anil.”

At work Colin and I make a point of not being near each other. There is so much sexual energy between us we’d telegraph our relationship to everyone. We meet up for ping pong on Thursday. I head down to the tables and am relieved that only Colin is there.
He gives me a cocky smile before saying, “Think you can keep your focus?”
With a big smile back, I ask him, “You insinuating I can’t keep focused?”
He lifts his eyebrows, as I lean across the table and in a low voice say, “Winner gets to be on top tonight.”
“Yeah, so, I win either way.”
“You want me to up the ante?”
He spreads his hands and gives me a sexy smirk. “I’m open to suggestions.”
“I was going to say loser cooks, but we both eat here.” Then I smile real big as a thought enters my brain. “Remember the thing I did last night that you really liked?”
He looks at me, raises his eye brows. “Yeah….”
“You win, your choice, I win, my choice.”
He chuckles and nods his head. “You’re trying to psych me out.”
With a big smirk I ask, “Is it working?”
Epilogue – Yellow Bikini
*** Colin ***
Shit is that Hita? That woman’s been plaguing my dreams. Now I’m hallucinating that she’s on the beach wearing a bright yellow bikini. I stare at this mirage. That has to be her.
My buddy hits me on the arm. “Hey, Colin, we’re moving to the other side of the dock.”
I nod my head and give him the sign for one minute.
“Hita!” The mirage turns, looks my way. Damn, that is her. She doesn’t spot me. I turn to the guys telling them, “Hold on a second I have to do something.”
I hear one of them say, “What’s with him?”
I watch the tall, slim, dark figure hand one of the other swimmers a hoodie and a towel. When I get close I realize that has to be her. Damn, she looks better in a bikini than I would have ever imagined, and my imagination has been in overdrive for some time. As I approach her I casually call out, “Hey, Hita, I thought that was you.”
She looks at me, her head is slightly tipped, finally saying, “Colin?”
Chuckling I respond, “I saw you yesterday. What? You forgot what I looked like already? Saying the first thing that pops into my head, “Why are you here?”
“Juliette did the swim. I’m her back-up team.” She points to a shivering person wrapped up in a towel.
“Sweet.” What I want to say is I want you. Damn, I’ve wanted you for too long. I think you broke up my last relationship because I certainly didn’t want her.
I can hear my buddies calling me, there’s not much I can do right now. Checking out that nice long body one more time, I pull myself together and try to move my eyes to her face. “Nice running into you. I should get back to my friends.”
Thinking about it, I turn around and say, “Hey, I haven’t seen you or David at the underground in a while.”
Her face goes blank. “Oh, yeah, David hasn’t been there?”
This is a surprise. “No.”
“We broke up.” She shrugs her shoulder before continuing in a flat voice, “I was avoiding it since I thought it best to give him some space.”
Damn, she’s not with that guy anymore. I need to think this through. I wouldn’t want to get hauled into HR, but I’m going to ask her out. “Yeah, sounds like both of you had the same idea.”
She nods. Not knowing what to say next, I hear, “Seth, we’re taking off.”
Trying to sear her hot body into my mind, I finally say, “My friends are waiting. I’ll catch you at work.”
As I catch up to the guys, Troy says, “Who’s that?”
I smile and tip my shoulder as internally
