and so began the rest of their night.

"Where are you going?"
Cali heard Taarig's low whisper because she'd woken up several moments earlier when Jamis had gotten out of bed. Their night together had been long and active. They'd fucked in nearly every imaginable position, and a few she'd thought impossible, but she'd enjoyed every one. Now, though, it seemed Jamis had had enough, even though it was still several hours before the light shift began.
"I need to get to the Command Center," Jamis responded to Taarig just as quietly as he moved to his closet for a clean uniform.
"Your link pinged?" Taarig looked to Cali to make sure she was still resting then carefully slid out of bed. Anything important enough to wake the Base Commander before the light shift began usually went through him first. When Jamis just continued to look at him, Taarig got the message.
"I'll see to it that Cali is taken care of," Taarig told him.
"I knew you would."
With that, Cali heard the faint rustling of clothes pulled on and the nearly silent slide of the resting chamber door opening and closing, telling her that Jamis had dressed and left her again with a made-up excuse.
She heard Taarig mumble something unintelligible under his breath, then the slide of another door opening and closing. This one closer. It told her Taarig had gone into the cleansing room, where they'd fucked in its huge cleansing unit and on the counter. But this time, she knew Taarig wasn't expecting her to follow. He was going in there to cleanse so he could escort her out.
Well, ruk that!
Her feet silently hit the floor as she rolled out of bed, and she looked around the dimly lit room. Spying her clothes in several different areas, she quickly pulled everything back on except for the scrap of fabric that made up her underwear. She gave up searching when she heard the cleansing unit shut off. Moving out of the resting chamber, she went through Jamis’s private living area and into his outer office, stopping just before the exterior door activated. She didn't want the lenses that lined the corridors to catch her. She also didn't want to take the long lift ride back down to her level.
Closing her eyes, she gathered her power, then without touching Jamis’s security panel, stretched out her arm, palm up, and sent out an order. Several moments later, the bio-chip in her hand vibrated, and Jamis’s door opened. Walking out, she quickly moved down the empty corridor, knowing she didn't have much time. Touching one spot in the seam of a panel that looked identical to all the others lining the corridor, it slid open. As soon as she entered the hidden passageway, the door closed behind her. Low lights automatically came on, illuminating a door at the other end of the passage. Moving toward it, Cali again activated the door with her bio-chip and stepped into the waiting lift.
As the lift started to descend, Cali leaned back against the wall and closed her eyes. She didn't know how she expected her night with the Commanders to end, but it hadn't been with Jamis lying to avoid her again or him leaving it to Taarig to 'take care' of her. She'd never heard any of their other lovers commenting on it, but then again, Jamis was probably never ashamed of being seen with one of them.
Feeling something run down her cheek, she reached up, surprised to discover it was a tear. Those two rukking idiots had caused her to shed a tear! Something no male had been able to do in the last two hundred years, since the first time her life span had 'ended.' Well, it stopped now.
As the lift doors opened, she angrily wiped away the solitary drop and stepped into the corridor that led to her living area. Well, she'd experienced what it was like to have two Apre males at the same time. Now it was time for her to put the Commanders behind her and get on with her life.

"Cali?" Taarig stepped out of the cleansing room and frowned when he found the resting chamber empty. He hadn't thought he'd been gone that long. He'd just needed to calm down and work through his anger at Jamis before waking Cali. Twice Jamis had made up an excuse to get away from her, and while Taarig didn't understand why Jamis was doing it, he knew
