I nod but can’t imagine what those questions are. Stella is technical so I’d guess that. Women are crazy so who knows. “It has full sized beds. Some others and almost all of the smaller houses have Alpha-Bit furniture. Her mom can stay there comfortably.”
She laughs making me smile. I like the sound. “I didn’t know. Are the bigger places for older Alpha-Bits?”
“No. Anton and Akai picked sleeping quarter houses. They don’t spend much time in their rooms and didn’t want to waste the space or have a roommate. Amal is more social and likes watching movies with the younger Bits. His open space has a big TV screen. Aris and Allen help with bonding. They have little kitchen tables and the stuff to make hot chocolate or juices. Aris said talking around a table is good.”
“They’re cute.” It wasn’t that long ago she was trying to figure out what was cute about them. She’s growing.
I nod. “They are.”
“Can we skip the stars or watch them later? Tomorrow will be busy. We’ll need the stars to get settled.”
“You’re not working?”
Her saucy smile has me hooked. My eyes don’t leave her mouth. “Not yet.”
Shit. I almost trip on the step. “Seeing the stars make your eyes glow can wait.”
She’s over my shoulder before I think about what I’m doing. Without watching her mouth, I navigate the steps no problem. Her giggle says she doesn’t care.
“All day I’ve been waiting for a chance to sink into my sexy Lexi. This afternoon you were working with Akai. Before that Stella was in your office. Before that Anton. All your days are busy, Lexi.”
She’s smiling when I put her down. “Yours aren’t if all you do is watch my office.”

Backing her up to the bed I lay her down and show her what that means to me. My one. I love everything about her and make sure she feels it. Slow and steady is my list for today. “Fuck, sexy Lexi. I love you.” I kiss her lips quick. She sounds like she’s hyperventilating.
Her hands pull me close and legs hold me in place. I love that too and lay my head by hers on the pillow. “You woke me up to a reality I didn’t know existed. Everything that makes you who you are is loved, Alexia Ford. You brought me to life. Everything is clearer and even my purpose is more focused. Thank you.”
She cries. Turning us over, I hold her and smile. She has no idea how fucking special she is. No, she’s learning and growing every day. It’s like watching the flower open in the flora time-lapse lesson the Rs were watching. My beautiful Lexi is just like that.
