the same way when it came to guys and me. Hell, he stopped them from asking me out. Even if it was indirectly, he still stopped it.
My feelings for him scared me. But tonight, all I wanted was sex. Nothing more. Nothing less. After the last couple of weeks together and then waking up next to him this morning, it was almost like it was meant to be. No, it was meant to be. Maybe everyone was right, and we did have our heads up our asses. Or it was me who did anyway. Vince seemed to know what he wanted even though he never came out and said it.
By the time I finished getting ready, even though I had no help from the girls like I had hoped, I gave myself a once-over in the mirror. It would have to do. It wasn’t like the outfit was going to stay on long anyway.
I adjusted the red bra beneath the white ripped tank top and made sure the plaid short skirt was centered before I slipped into the sky-high heels.
Remembering the rough way Vince had taken what he wanted from me not too long ago, I couldn’t help but smile. I was thankful that he didn’t care where we were. As long as he could get what he wanted and give me the same in return, he was happy.
The outfit left little to the imagination and I knew that Vince wasn’t going to like that part. Not unless he had something do with it. I learned rather quickly that he liked being in control. But tonight, it was my turn. At least for a little bit. Maybe a few minutes. Probably even shorter than that. Even though I was going to be wearing a mask, as soon as he saw the pendant between my breasts, he would know.
Giving myself a final once-over in the mirror, I took a deep breath and headed to the door just as it slammed open with a bang.
I jumped back.
Corbin appeared in the doorway, his eyes raking over me. “Good, you’re ready. Your man is ready to lose his shit that his friends are blocking him from getting back to you.”
My eyes widened. “I just saw him a few minutes ago.”
“Sweetheart.” Corbin smiled. “It’s been a half hour.”
“Oh.” A nervous laugh left me. “I must have been stuck in my head.”
“No.” He cupped my shoulders, guiding me out of the room. “You’re in love. Big difference. Now go get him. I’ll leave this room unlocked for…” He waggled his eyebrows. “You know.”
I giggled, slipping the mask down onto my face. “Thank you.”
“For you?” His grin grew. “Anything.” He started backing up. “We still have that date?”
“Yes. Next Friday, I am all yours.”
He beamed. “Good. Have fun,” he sang and disappeared down the hallway.
Thankful for Corbin’s gentle but sassy personality, it helped ease some of the nerves racing around in my stomach.
Once I reached the end of the hallway, the music switched to something slower. It was sensual but held a beat that I felt down to the marrow of my bones.
From where I was standing, I could see out onto the dance floor.
Vince was sitting on a chair with his arms crossed under his chest. A deep scowl was set on his face. Oh God, did he think he was getting the stripper? Maybe that was why he looked pissed. I wasn’t sure. Looked like I needed to move this along and fast.
I took a step forward just as Vince stood.
His friends rushed to him and pushed him back on the chair.
I could tell even from where I was standing that Vince was enraged. He looked around him and went to stand when Luna came out onto the dance floor and stopped him. Whatever she told him, relaxed him a bit. Thank goodness for that. I didn’t want my surprise to piss him off, but I knew that Ashton wouldn’t have gone without him having a stripper tonight. This was the only way for it to happen because I refused to watch another woman dance all over him.
Stepping out onto the dance floor, I adjusted the red mask that completely covered my face. I knew that once Vince found out it was me; he was going to lose his shit. I didn’t have a lot to take off. I was also ready to go all the way, but I knew it wouldn’t happen. He would find out it was me before I even got a
