back to school and learn to do hair.”
Before Carlos and Mexico, Sage had worked as an esthetician. She missed it terribly. “That’s great, Aimee. I miss working.”
“You should go back. Who knows, once I get my license, maybe we could open our own shop.”
Sage considered her suggestion. It wasn’t a bad idea.
Reyn pulled a chair up beside them and plopped down on it, nearly spilling her beer. “What are you two whispering about?”
Aimee mentioned the salon idea to Reyn, and Reyn jumped on it. “You know the club would invest. Talk to Steele. He’ll probably front you the money.”
“Money for what?” LuLu asked as she parked it next to Aimee.
Reyn told LuLu and, of course, LuLu loved the idea. “I didn’t know you were an esthetician.”
“Me either,” Reyn said on a pout.
“She’s amazing. Her bikini waxes barely hurt, and she has this special peel that makes your skin feel like a baby’s butt,” Aimee told them.
While LuLu and Reyn discussed horrible wax stories, Sage leaned over to Aimee and whispered, “It’s good to have you back.”
Chapter Seventeen
THE SHITTY THING about lockdowns was the sudden interruption and lack of freedom that it caused. Lockdowns served a purpose, and that purpose was to keep club members and their loved ones safe from outside threats. After what happened to Buck and Reyn, Steele had implemented a buddy system. Members were not to leave The Cave without having another member at their back. Ax understood this; hell, he’d even voted on it, but he had a fucking bike to finish, and since Sledge didn’t want to leave Aimee’s side, this presented him with a damn big problem.
“Take Buck,” Sage suggested. They were lying in bed after she’d woken him with her mouth on his cock and he’d fucked the hell out of her.
“Buck’s got a system to install. Ego’s going with him.”
“Take Ink.”
“Ink’s at his shop, and he’s got Art with him.”
“I can go with you.”
Fucking cute. He dropped a kiss onto her pretty, little lips. “Not gonna happen. I need you safe here. I’ll figure something out.”
Back when Grizz was president, lockdown meant that no one left The Cave. Ax was glad Steele was more progressive and understood that no work equaled no money coming in. However, the buddy rule was proving to be a giant pain in the ass. Maybe Taz could go with him.
“Last night was fun,” Sage murmured, pulling him from his thoughts.
Last night was more than fun. The sundaes were a huge hit with the kids—and an even bigger one with the adults. “Last night was delicious,” he growled while nuzzling her neck. “How about I get more fudge for later?” His cock stirred at the thought of her pebble-hard nipples as he licked the fudge from them.
“Mmm, can I lick it off you this time?”
“Fuck yeah, you can.” He gave her a kiss before heading to the shower. As much as he wanted to stay with her, he couldn’t.
He left Sage in bed while he went to sort out who would accompany him to the garage that day. As Steele wanted Taz and Arson at The Cave, this left Tiny. Ax was fine with that choice because, unlike most of his brothers, Tiny was quiet and could take direction.
They arrived at the garage at ten and finished at three. An hour later, they were back on the road and heading for The Cave. As he passed the intersection leading to his house, he made a last-minute decision to stop and grab some things. Tiny was too far ahead for him to motion to, but if he hurried, Tiny wouldn’t even notice he was gone.
The house sat on five acres of land, three of which were covered with trees. Built with Austin Stone, it had four bedrooms, three baths, a finished basement, and a killer deck that spanned the entire back. Steele liked that it was close to the club, but what Ax liked most about it, was the privacy. The nearest neighbor was over a mile down the road. This meant he could have parties without anyone bitching about the noise.
He pulled up to the garage and dipped his hand inside his saddlebag, tagging the opener. The garage was big enough for two vehicles, but because he liked to fix shit and needed the space for his sawhorse and tools, he chose to use one side for his bike while leaving his truck to the elements.
While making a mental list of everything he needed, he cut the ignition
