my heart.”
“I suppose that’s good enough for now,” I responded, and Frances chuckled as well.
With the ceremony complete, we turned back to the small crowds that had gathered on the shoreline.
“Congratulations!” Braden was the first to say it, and from that moment on, it was a family-wide celebration.
I knew that we wouldn’t be on this shoreline for long, so I decided to embrace it while we were there. We weren’t often all together, and it was wonderful. However, I also couldn't wait for the others to get out of there.
“Do you have any plans for tonight?” Edward teased as he congratulated us.
“Oh, I don’t know, maybe a few,” I said with a grin.
“More than a few,” Jacob said. “So, I think it’s time for all of you to clear out of here and let us claim our mate.”
“OK, OK,” Edward held up his hand with a chuckle. “Congratulations again.”
Once the final congratulations were said, we started to move back to the log cabin.
“You know,” I said to Jacob, “you didn’t answer him when he asked what plans we had for tonight.”
“Oh,” Jacob said with a grin. “My apologies. I should have told him explicitly that we planned to make an heir?”
“I think so,” Frances said with a smile. “Only if Jenny agrees?”
“Oh, I have to agree?” she teased us. “What if I said no?”
“We’d convince you,” I responded and she wiggled her eyebrows at me.
“Well, luckily, you don’t have to do any convincing at all. I’m all for it.”
“With which one of us first?” Frances asked as we got back into the cabin.
“Well, that’s an easy answer,” she said as she reached to unzip her dress. In half a moment, she was standing naked in front of us. I was pretty sure all three of our jaws dropped. “All of you.”
We had learned early on not to question any fortune that came our way. We weren’t about to question this either. We followed Jenny upstairs, and we closed the door behind us. It was time to make an heir and nothing was going to stop us, because we officially belonged to each other now. I couldn’t wait.
Epilogue
Jacob
I was so busy in the office that I didn’t notice that the day had flown by. Maybe it was because it was one of the first days back at the office after our extended honeymoon. Maybe it was because we were all so happy these days that we didn’t know what to do when negativity came into the office. We literally let things roll off our backs compared to before we were mated. All three of us had giant smiles on our faces.
At least, I thought we all did. But when Johnathan came into the office looking positively upset, I didn’t know what to say. He was staring at me like I had just kicked his puppy.
“What is it?” I asked. “What’s the problem.”
“It’s Jenny,” he said.
I didn’t know what he meant, so I cocked my head. Everything was so perfect that I couldn't imagine things going badly.
“What about her?” I asked. “She’s at home today, right?”
“Anna just called me,” she said. “She had to call a doctor because Jenny collapsed on a video call with her.”
“What?” my jaw hit the floor. “Are you kidding?”
I knew that he wasn't, though, given how pale his face was.
“Where is Frances?" Jonathan asked, and I looked around the office, like he might be hiding there, which was silly. I hadn’t seen Frances in hours, and it occurred to me that he could have taken some tourists out on a trail ride
“I don’t know,” I managed.
“I’ll find him,” Johnathan said. “You go to her.”
“Yeah, absolutely,” I said. “Did Anna say what was wrong? Jenny didn't say she wasn’t well earlier today. In fact, she said she felt great. I don’t understand…”
“Jacob, just stop babbling and go,” he said, and I managed to actually make it out the door without babbling anymore.
I really wasn’t one to babble. But when there was an emergency, my brain sometimes broke.
The cabin wasn't far. Today, though, I felt like I might trip and fall on my face.
She couldn’t be sick. She had to be fine. I don’t think I would be able to deal with it if anything happened to Jenny.
“Come on.” I realized I was basically speaking to my feet, which was ridiculous. My heart was pounding, and my mouth was dry. Jenny was the best person in the world, and we couldn’t lose her.
I was nearly home when my cell
