hook-ups and nameless strangers?
Donovan embraced Silver, let his hands roam the hard planes of his body, to cup his full, muscular ass. Silver’s cock was like steel, a hot brand against Donovan’s naked skin, leaking against Donovan’s thigh as if begging for release. Taking that gorgeous dick into his mouth would be amazing, but taking it in his ass would be even better.
Silver broke the connection, however, he didn’t loosen his hold on Donovan’s neck. He gazed up at Donovan, his heated stare drilling into Donovan’s heart, his soul. Moments passed as they held each other’s gaze, their breathing eventually slowing back to normal.
Silver released him, but not before cupping Donovan’s cheek and using his thumb to stroke the whiskers of his beard.
“That’s what you deserve, mijo. To know how much someone desires you, not what you have.”
Donovan’s breath hitched and he quickly swallowed down his rising emotions. He wanted to be the honest, open—vulnerable—man that Silver wanted, but he wasn’t sure he knew how to be that person. As it was, he couldn’t verbally respond to what Silver had just said.
Silver gave him a soft smile, nodding his head. “That’s all right. Nothing changes overnight and some things are worth waiting for.” He pressed another quick kiss to Donovan’s lips, then lowered his hand. “But you have to decide what it is you truly want.”
Donovan blinked several times, curling and uncurling his fingers in frustration that he still didn’t know what to say. Thankfully, Silver seemed to understand his dilemma.
“Jump in the shower like a good boy, then we’ll grab that breakfast. Everything is clearer after coffee.”
He winked and Donovan let out a shaky laugh.
“Yes, so true.”
Silver turned, but Donovan laid a hand on his arm. When Silver peered over his shoulder, Donovan’s heart skipped a beat as he wondered whether he had the strength to speak.
“Thank you.”
Sometimes the simplest words were the best.
* * * *
After a relaxing breakfast with Donovan, it was time to engage in more serious conversation. The old school outdoor coffeeshop that was attached to a public golf course, was one of Silver’s go to eateries. He’d been pleased by how much Donovan had seemed to enjoy himself, even feeding pieces of his blueberry muffin to the yellow-eyed blackbirds that loved to hang around the patio for the scraps left on uncleared dishes.
Silver locked up the garage, as well as hanging a sign on the side door that he was closed. Not that he was ever open for business to anyone other than Mr. Jenkins, but it discouraged Chico’s old customers who hadn’t gotten the memo, as well as his buddies who understood it meant he wasn’t available to hang out.
He needed to spend uninterrupted time with Donovan. Depending on what Donovan’s reactions were to what Silver had to say would determine whether they should move forward together. Silver found himself shocked by how much hope he had that they would have a chance as Papi and boy.
My mijo.
God, he could get used to that. A part of him already was.
Once he’d shut off the downstairs work lights to further underscore just how unavailable he was, Silver made his way up to his apartment, to Donovan. When he passed over the threshold, he noted that Donovan was flipping through the original car manual for his Mustang.
Silver closed the door behind him to keep the garage smell out, then turned on his heavy-duty air filter.
Silver gestured to the manual as he took a seat next to Donovan on the futon. “Learn anything new?”
Donovan let out a loud snort. “Not about the mechanics of your car, no. Only a further appreciation of how skilled you are at your profession.” He set down the manual then angled his body to face Silver. “The other night, with the Miura? It shocked the shit out of me that it took you less than a few minutes to get it running again. I had no idea what I was looking at and was mentally kicking myself there by the side of the road. How did you know so quickly?”
Silver had wanted to keep their discussion hands-free so they could both keep their focus, but dammit, Donovan’s hair, his skin, his lips—the man was much too tempting.
“Don’t be pissed. I saw immediately what it was, because there are a few quick fixes that I always check before anything else. You had a loose distributor cap wire. But I had to soak in the sight of that gorgeous engine. Plus, I have
