than his brothers, not lighthearted like Dylan or clinical like Luca. No, Hunter had a very different level of intensity.
“I am heading down to the bakery, have fun exploring today!” Lena called out.
As I wiggled slightly, Hunter placed me down. I easily slipped on my rain boots before turning to them expectantly. I honestly didn’t care where we went, but I needed to leave the room. I was liable to attack them if I didn’t.
eHowever, both of them were just staring at me in a way that made me blush, so I realized I would probably need to remind them of our plans. I had a feeling they hadn’t heard a word their sister had said.
Smiling slightly, I grabbed my phone, wondering who had charged it. I opened up the contact menu and offered it first to Dylan as he added both his and Luca’s number before Hunter took it and added his own. I created a group text quickly, rather than carrying notes around, before sending off a text.
Me: Still want to show me around?
Sure, it was unconventional, but until we started forming an emotional bond, this would be what we had… I mean, if we formed one. I hoped we did, but I would let that be a surprise.
Dylan grinned after quickly glancing at it. “I like this, Colette. Now you have to answer all my questions.”
Hunter grunted and wrapped an arm around my waist, causing me to look up, “Come on, little fox, let’s show you Willowdale.”
Nodding, I followed them out of the bedroom. Honestly, I was starting to think this was the best decision I’d ever made. Maybe the choice to come to Willowdale hadn’t been stupid after all.

I hadn’t believed Dylan at first. Honestly, my little brother had bullshitted us before. Never about anything as important as our mate… but it wouldn’t have been completely surprising. Then again, he had called in the middle of the night so I suppose I should have taken it seriously. Now though? Now I was very aware of the truth.
I was giving it my best to not be a grumpy motherfucker but after his call last night I’d stayed up all night, focused on the name Colette. Damn near obsessing over it. Of course, it didn’t live up to the stunning little fox next to me. I was actually jealous that Dylan had gotten to spend a few more hours with her than I did. It was ridiculous.
Despite the rain last night, the morning was partly sunny, her rain boots splashing my leather ones slightly as we walked outside. I kept her tucked near me, my wolf on edge because of the other villagers walking around and enjoying the day. He was a possessive bastard, and I didn’t completely disagree with the concept of dragging her back inside to keep her to ourselves.
Honestly, sometimes being an Alpha was a pain in the ass. Everything was so intense. Even right now, despite being silent as Dylan pointed out the small shops and businesses we passed, I was stuck between demanding her entire life story and wanting to fuck her senseless. It didn’t help that I could smell she was wet and absolutely ready. A low groan stuck in my throat as I tried to not focus on the dangerous scent of fresh rain, magic, and sex on her skin. When I had first arrived at the apartment, it had been overwhelming enough that I almost bust in on her shower. The desire for her caused my wolf to nearly escape and force me to shift. Somehow I didn’t think that would have earned me any brownie points.
But hell, it didn’t stop me from wanting to bend her over the coffee shop table we passed and yank down her leggings so I could drill her from behind after eating out her assumably perfect pussy. I wanted to devour Colette completely. It was going to be a long, interminable day.
It didn’t help that I had the urge to pick her up so that she didn’t accidentally fall or hurt herself. Not that she didn’t seem like a perfectly capable adult, but I was feeling way too overprotective and she seemed so much smaller than me. And delicate. I watched as her purple braids swung back and forth, her occasional nod and smile making my brother irrationally happy at her full attention on him.
… and I was jealous. Yeah, this was going to be a thing with my wolf.
I could feel others
