her head but looked extremely happy. "Let's get this tour over with so I can have another cup of coffee."
"Me too," I hinted.
"No."
"I tried," I voiced with amusement. "At least get more of that sweet stuff in Alaric's fridge? Please?"
"He'll kill me if you go on a drunk spending spree again."
"I'll be good!" I voiced. "Please?"
She sighed. "I spoil you."
"Because deep down you love my craziness," I hummed, rising up.
She opened her arms up and I smirked, giving her a quick hug. "Be careful and don't get into too much trouble."
"Yes, Mom," I playfully replied, but deep down I was happy to get a hug from her. Since I rarely showed these type of emotions, getting a hug or comforting gesture seemed rare to me.
"Let's go meet the other new students. Hopefully you'll avoid a lecture from Papa Dearest."
"Ugh. Not a lecture," I whined but headed for the door. Opening it first, I walked out and straight into someone. "Ow."
Opening my eyes, I noticed the muscled chest at my eye level. I slowly looked up into a pair of red eyes. They reminded me of mine when they shifted, an attribute common to my dark element.
Speaking of darkness, the very element within me flickered with desire. I was impressed Shadow Jade hadn't made a dramatic appearance due to how the element pounded within me. It wasn't the only one yearning for release; my light element that rarely surfaced began to creep into my limbs.
It left me confused, and I didn't attempt to hide it as I narrowed my eyes at the individual.
His eyes slowly returned to a solid black with a silver rim around the iris, reminding me of a ring of light shining in his eyes.
Both dark and light elements began to calm, but I immediately took in the male's features.
He was 6'4", clearly taller than my 5'9" height. His shoulder-length black hair, pale white skin, and smooth, light pink lips had me intrigued. His harsh jawline only accented his oval, clean-shaven face. He smiled just slightly, obviously enjoying my extended analysis of him, which everyone else would consider checking him out.
I mean, it wasn't like his hot appearance didn't deserve it. He had buff muscles, his biceps pushing against his white uniform shirt.
He had broad shoulders that made me want to delicately wrap my arms around his neck and pull him close. His chest was wide, and as I lowered my gaze I checked out his slim waist and built legs.
There was no way he was eighteen, and if he was, he looked nowhere near it, even in a school uniform.
I wasn't complaining.
He was someone I'd jump and fuck without a second thought. I was pretty sure that was my dark energy talking, but I wouldn't fight back too hard.
That's at least what I thought when his smile widened and showed me a dimple.
White flag! Retreat! Retreat!
I'd never been turned on like this by anyone. I’ve had my share of one-night stands, but those were spur-of-the-moment interludes to experience the hype regarding sex. They weren’t with people I'd commit to, especially with the whole relationship emotion factor.
I struggled to sort out my emotions. I'd feel bad for anyone attempting to deal with whatever went on with me on a daily basis.
"Like what you see?" His voice was as smooth as chocolate and there was something deeper there that was pushing all the right buttons.
If I jump the new student, would that give Tanner a good excuse to get me expelled? It may be worth it.
"Yup, but I'd like to avoid getting expelled for jumping a student," I responded.
I waited for him to be thrown off by my response like anyone else, but his smirk widened into a full smile.
Now that could make my heart stop and my panties wet all at once.
"Don't have to tell," he replied.
"True, but Professor Sky can hear us," I reminded, nudging my head slightly to the left. If it wasn't for Bianca's light sweet perfume, I would have surely forgotten she was even observing it all.
I'm acting like I've never seen a guy in my life. Get your act together, Jade.
"Too bad," he licked his bottom lip. "Would have enjoyed the ride. "
"Jump him," Shadow Jade concluded.
Oh no, you don't. Stay down.
My grin widened to hide my true shock. "Maybe next time." I walked around him, heading to the door.
"Jade, hold on," Bianca called out.
"Hmm?" I turned back while taking another step forward, instantly crashing into another person. "Why am I crashing into
