girl with grey hair before," a higher pitched voice muttered.
Grey hair? Are they blind? My hair is black with white strands. I even curled it today. Ah, this must be leading to bullying. What fun.
I remained where I was, my hands in my blazer pockets as I continued to stare at the board filled with information.
"Hey, new kid."
I didn't answer, suddenly interested in a section of the board that talked about after-school activities.
Football, Basketball, video...there's a club for video games? I wonder if they play RPG ones? Actually, do they have a dance class? Oh...they do! Heel dance...pole dancing. Hmm. They should combine those two together. Maybe I'll join a club. I'll let Shadow Jade join the videogame one. Beat all the students’ butts at Mario Kart!
"Hey!" the demanding voice shouted. It was loud enough to make me realize whoever it was stood behind me now, rather than in the hall.
Turning around, my eyes locked onto two girls. One was tall and very plump. I'd say she was chubby, but she had the height to carry it. I wasn't into her red hair and tan skin. They clashed.
She wore an angry expression on her face, unlike her friend. The other girl also had red hair, but it was curled and definitely went well with her overall look. She had pale skin, not a pimple or imperfection in sight. She was super skinny, about half of my slim, curvy size.
Arching an eyebrow, I waited for them to speak.
"Are you deaf or something?" the tanned girl mocked.
"She must be mute." The pale girl laughed.
"I'm neither," I replied. "I just hate replying to people who expect me to."
They both grimaced, but I cut to the chase. "What do you want?"
That must have thrown them off because they didn't answer right away. With a dramatic sigh, I tilted my head. "Nothing to say? You just shout at people and then go silent? Yet I'm the deaf-mute one."
Walking around them, I sat in one of the waiting chairs, crossing my legs as I leaned my head back against the wall.
"It's seven in the morning. If you guys have nothing to say, don't waste my time."
"Who the hell do you—" the tanned girl started, but I interrupted, opening my eyes that I figured were shifting in color.
"Jade Masters, that's who. You got a problem with me, keep it to yourself. Unless you want my brand new black heels up your ass."
They were both stunned by my combative response, and I stood back up, walking to stand before them.
"I'll warn you now. I don't follow the rules, and if you need clarification of exactly who I am, do some research on your headmaster. Now, you two can scurry along to class and hope I'm not a part of it." I smiled, glancing between the two of them.
"Kill, Kill, Kill."
The three of us looked to the door, hearing the melodic sound. In seconds, Shadow Jade arrived. She glanced my way, slowly taking in the two girls before she skipped over to me, wrapping her arms around my neck.
"Kill?" she asked innocently.
"Morning...Spade, my adorable twin. Nope. You can't kill them. I think it's against the school policy. Maybe?"
"Not kill?" She looked at the two of them, and I noticed their confusion but also the hint of fear. It didn't take a genius to sense that.
"You're right, Ms. Masters."
I looked back to the door to see Bianca leaning against the door frame, her arms crossed over her chest. She was in a tight black dress with a black and blue blazer that rested on her shoulders. Her pink hair was up in the perfect bun and she wore black glasses. Aside from her hair and eyes, the only pop of color was her dark red lips.
"There is a section on when you can and can't kill a student. Since you've just arrived, those do not apply until I read them to you in a few short minutes. Do you have some business to take care of? I can always come back."
Turning my attention back to the two girls, I noticed how pale their faces became, realizing their very poor mistake.
So tempting.
"Kill?" Shadow Jade asked. I giggled and lifted my hand to pet Shadow Jade's head. "No, Spade. We'll be good students today. I mean, we're not good at following rules anyway, but seeing as they don't apply to us as of now, it seems pretty pointless to commit the deed and not enjoy the thrill of doing something wrong. Maybe
