remember everything you say.”
My heart does several cartwheels before melting. It’s then I know for sure that I’m in love with Bryce.
Chapter Seventeen
Bryce
Getting away with Abby was a brilliant idea. I’ve had the best two days I’ve ever had in a long time. Spending time with her only leaves me craving more. Unfortunately, there’s only one more night left of our romantic weekend. One weekend isn’t enough. We need more time. I want to take her out to more restaurants, buy her more gifts―that I have to beg her to take. I want more nights of making slow passionate love on the beach, by the pool, in the pool―we’ve been very creative since we’ve been here.
“What are you thinking so hard about?”
Abby’s voice plucks me from my thoughts. The soft hum of the hot tub jets that had faded while I indulged in sensual memories comes back. I glance up at her and almost swallow my tongue. She’s changed into the skimpiest bikini I’ve seen her in yet. I wish I could live my life seeing her in those two pieces every day.
“That I want to stay here with you forever.”
She smiles. “Unfortunately, we’re going back to reality tomorrow.” She hands me one of the glasses of wine in her hands and steps into the tub.
“This can be our reality.”
Sliding closer, she tilts her head curiously. “What do you mean?”
“We can do this more often.”
“With my schedule? I don’t think so. And you have a job that you love.”
Sure I love my job but not as much as I love her. Gazing at her upturned face, I’m tempted to let her know. Instead, I suggest, “Maybe you don’t have to work.”
Confusion clouds her eyes. “Then how would I―” Her brows crease into an adorable frown. The look of disapproval she gives me makes me sigh. I knew she’d never go for it.
“Are you suggesting what I think you’re suggesting?” Her eyes narrow to slits.
“That I can take care of you? Yes.” I brace myself for her angry words.
“Bryce, I can’t allow you to do that,” she says, leaning back against the hot tub.
“Why not? You and your sister wouldn’t have anything to worry anymore. I’d take care of you like you deserve.”
“I know how to take care of myself.
“I’m not saying you don’t, Abby. I’m saying you don’t have to.” I push off my side of the tub and cage her in with my arms. My face is a few inches away from hers, and I can see all the emotions flicking.
Anger.
Annoyance.
Want.
Love.
Fear.
She’s so used to taking care of herself, but I want to take care of her now. I want her to wake up every day without anything to worry about it. She’s done enough worrying. Between having to care for her sister and then what happened with her dad and how people treat her, Abby deserves a break.
“I can’t…I mean…”
“Shhh,” I say, not wanting her to say another word. “Just think about it.” Before I give her the chance to argue, I seal my lips over hers and bring my hand out of the water to cup the back of her head. I groan down her throat and suck her tongue into my mouth. She whimpers and it’s all I need to stand from the hot, bubbling water.
My cock is hard, pointing directly to her face. Her eyes widen and her mouth parts. There is nothing I want more than to fee l those lips wrap around my cock, but I don’t want that to happen here. I want her in bed where I can feast on her body like she deserves.
I bend down and lift her into my arms. She yelps, wrapping her arms tight around my neck as I step out of the tub to our balcony. I turn my head and steal her lips in another kiss. I can taste the fruity reminisce of the wine on her lips and I swear, it makes me drunk. Her hand cups my cheek, her fingers brushing along my scruff, and I fall harder for her in that moment as she deepens the kiss.
I step inside the villa, the curtains part as I enter the room, dragging over her like feathers before falling back into place. I lay her on the bed, still wet from the hot tub, but I don’t care. What we are about to do will dry us off.
I crawl over her and rip the triangles of her bikini to the side so I can see
