sure how many people we got. The number of heads I sniped was quite a handful, but it wasn't all of them.
Easton shakes his head as he walks over to his bed and sits down. "Hugo and the rest of them are on their way home. They've been talking with Rich. Rich heard from Santiago about an hour ago. He's withdrawing his request to move onto our territory."
"I don't give a fuck. Why are they still alive?"
Easton shakes his head. "I don't know, man."
"How many did we lose?"
"Five men."
"How many of theirs got away?"
He shakes his head again. "I don't know. I'm thinking at least three. Maybe four. We dropped a lot of bodies."
I sigh, leaning back to reach into my pocket and pull out my bowl. I spark it up, taking a hit and then pass it to Easton.
"I saw two more girls. They pulled them in the tunnel. They got them."
I narrow my eyes. "Does Cara know?"
He nods.
"She's never going to give up, and to be honest, I don't blame her. I want to kill every one of them, man." I cough through my hit, setting the bowl on the table once it's cashed.
"I told Rich the same thing. It's fucked up, but you know it's going to be a fucking struggle. It's going to take years to take that ring down. Once we cross the border, it's an entirely different world. We won't be on our territory anymore. It's risky."
"It's a risk I think we need to take."
The door opens, and I didn't even realize Cara was out of the shower. She walks out, a towel wrapped around her body. That disgusting bag she was wearing is hopefully in the trash can. That thing was appalling.
"I agree. I'm not going to stop until I get those girls back. All of the girls. I want to take them down with you."
“You’re not stepping a foot over that border.” I growl at her.
She narrows her eyes at me. "Maybe not, but I’ll do whatever I have to do. Whatever we have to do, it's going to be done. It needs to be done."
All three of us stare at each other in silence.
"What about Aziel and Lynx? What did they say?" I ask Easton.
"We never called them in, but they're down for whatever. There's apparently a ring on the border. Right near Tijuana. Shady shit flows into Cali. They want it taken down, too. Actually, Lynx was the one to convince Rich it might be a good thing."
"So, it's settled. We're taking them down." Cara says, a little less fear in her eyes and a little more determination shines through.
"Yeah, babe. We're taking them down."

Cara
After driving nearly twenty hours, we pull into our home. Easton hops out of the van, unloading Jackson's chair before making his way into the house.
Quickly.
He's going really fucking fast.
Before I'm even fully out of the van, Rose is bursting out of the house and running towards me at full speed. We both break into sobs, running towards each other and throwing our arms around one another
She leans back, grabbing onto my face, "I can't believe your back." She wraps her arms around my neck, pulling me against her and squeezing me tight. "I was so worried."
Tears flow down my face, tumbling down in free-flowing waterfalls. "I can't believe it, either. I didn't think I was going to come home."
That makes her cry harder. Her entire body shakes as she rocks against me. After a few minutes, she pulls back and wipes her face. "Don't you ever fucking do that shit to me again, Cara. Not ever."
"I'll try not to." I never tried to in the first place.
Easton comes up to her, wrapping his arms around her and pulling her against him. "What about me?"
She turns around, crying all over again as she wraps her arms around him. "Thank you, Easton. I love you so fucking much." She kisses him. "I'm so glad your back." She says against his lips.
"That's more like it." He kisses her, and I'm instantly jealous of their love. It's undeniable and rare to be in a kind of love like that. As I look at Jackson, I wonder if we have that. I love him, and I'm in love with him, but we haven't even said it to each other. Will we ever be like Easton and Rose?
Will we be the one in a million that found their soul mate?
"We should get out of here. I'm fucking beat, and I bet
