run into a mission without a plan.”
Hudson closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He knew his commanding officer was right, but that didn’t mean he didn’t want to run out of the building and straight to Siena.
Commander North pulled his cellphone out of his pocket and pressed a couple of keys before putting it in the center of the table. Xavier's voice came through the phone. “I assume Cy caught sight of Rock and Buddy?”
“You want to tell me why you didn’t call me the second you knew these men touched down?” Commander North’s voice was cold.
Xavier huffed. “You’re not the only person I report to. I didn’t know I had to do a phone tree every time a bad guy landed in the states. If that were the case, I would never get any work done. We’re ten minutes from Angel’s house, and I called the police.”
“Xavier, Siena is also at her house. I can guarantee it.”
With every passing moment, he grew more worried. He had no clue if Mia was at the house with Siena. She’d talked about asking Sidney to watch her so she could get more packing done, but Hudson didn’t know if Sidney was available. Even Kaiden had mentioned that he might stop by Siena’s and help.
If Siena saw Angel in danger, he knew she would try to help because she had the biggest heart. She’d wanted to come up with a plan for the kid whose dad had accosted her because she’d felt he still needed her time and attention.
Hudson knew that his team going after a target could cause issues, so he would have to find a way to get to Siena on his own. The mission was sanctioned. “Commander North, my stomach doesn’t feel okay. I think the lunch we ordered was bad. Can I be excused for the day?”
Without missing a beat, Doc grumbled, “I know what you mean. My stomach feels like I’m on a roller coaster.”
Cy started to open his mouth.
“Let me guess.” Commander North sighed. “All of a sudden, all of you don’t feel good. No matter what I say or do, you guys are going to run out of here and head straight for the house.” He paused. “I understand you would do anything for Siena, but you need to keep a level head. Running in without a plan is still a bad idea. That’s how missions go fubar.”
“With the data I’m collecting…” Cy stopped and took a drink of his soda. “I think we can come up with a plan on the way. I was able to get the floor plan of her house.”
“Send that to us,” Xavier said. “We’re closer, and I promise not to let these men get in trouble, Commander, but you know as well as I they’re not going to sit and wait for my sitrep.”
“If Carter shows up at Grim’s house, she’s not going to let him walk out of her house alive,” Hudson warned. “I’m more worried about what Grim might do and Siena walking into it.”
“She’d better not kill him, yet,” Xavier said.
“Dude, you can’t say shit like that on the phone.”
Xavier laughed. “This line is encrypted. See you guys soon.” And the phone went dead.
Commander North glanced around the room. “Go, but you guys are doing double PT for the rest of the week, and I don’t want to hear one complaint.”
“Will do.” Hudson shot out of his seat, and his teammates did the same.
“And, Hudson?”
“Yes, sir?”
“Go get your woman back.”
Hudson nodded and headed for the door. His brothers ran behind him, and they burst through the back door. They all piled into Casanova’s large black SUV. Cy jumped into the front and opened his laptop before Casanova even started the car.
“I’m not sure what we’re heading into, but thanks for coming. You didn’t have to do this,” Hudson said.
“Fuck off,” Casanova grumbled. “Siena is one of ours. So is Grim, even if she works for the enemy and has a chip on her shoulder the size of a glacier that I can’t seem to melt away no matter how many times I give her my panty-melting smile.”
Everyone laughed. Then Doc cleared his throat. “Yara has already been through enough. She doesn’t need to deal with these assholes or worry about going back to where she came from. All three of those women need a fresh start. Yes, we are doing this for Siena but also for the other women. We’re family, and we look out
