I spun behind my own attacker, smashed my foot into his knee and wrapped my arm around his neck as he went down. I swiftly placed my other hand behind his neck and squeezed hard enough to make him choke and claw at my arm as he went purple.
“Hey!” I yelled as loudly as I could. “You want your man to die!?”
The north alpha looked at me and growled, his eyes flashing dangerously.
“Let her go, or I’ll kill one of your own.” I tightened the headlock. The male in my grasp clawed harder at my forearm. I held the alpha’s potent gaze, and though his compulsion sizzled over my skin, I didn’t drop my own. His gaze narrowed.
Yeah, that’s right, dickhead, that alpha shit doesn’t work on me.
I sneered while the man in my death grip coughed, and thrashed, turning an even darker shade of purple.
The north alpha gripped Shannon’s neck harder and she started to choke. I reciprocated. His man turned blue and started to lose his strength.
“Let her go, or he dies.” I meant it, too. I had no qualms about killing such a slimy bastard.
The north alpha snorted. “Ha, you’re a woman. You will not kill him. Besides if he dies at your hands, he is not worthy of being by my side.” He shrugged and slammed Shannon into the wall, squeezing her neck as he undid his jeans with his other hand. She began to claw weakly at his face as her eyes rolled in her head.
Oh, hell, no, I was not going to stand and watch this. My heart hammered in my chest. “What? You think because I am a woman I have a moral compass?” I laughed loudly. “That I won’t kill to make a point?”
He glanced over his shoulder at me. “I don’t care.”
I was aware we had drawn a crowd. The large lone shifter who had been on the plane, was at the front of the crowd, his tawny eyes fixed on the north wing alpha. A cold calculated look consumed them.
I squeezed my victim's neck harder. I needed him unconscious, but if he didn’t fade in the next few seconds, I’d end him. He’d chosen to attack a woman. That had been his choice, and he had to deal with the consequences. The moment his body became lax, I let him go and pounced. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the big guy move. My first victim had crawled to his feet and was about to grab me. The big guy yanked him sideways, and I slammed a back fist into another male coming from my right.
My attacker’s nose exploded and he screamed, so I smashed my knuckles into his throat causing his knees to buckle. Taking the opportunity, I swung an axe kick down on the back of his neck and smashed him face first into the floor.
The north alpha roared his displeasure and threw Shannon to the ground. I vaguely registered her coughing and spluttering. At least she was breathing. North alpha guy spun more quickly than I expected, and his fist caught my ribs as I darted sideways. My ribs cracked and agony blasted through my chest. I screeched and stumbled but managed to block his second punch and counter with one of my own.
The big guy was easily holding his own against the other two males, leaving me the alpha to deal with.
The alpha staggered as I slammed my foot into the side of his knee. Quickly, I followed that strike with a punch to his jaw. At the same time, his fist slammed into my belly and another against my already broken ribs. I was a good fighter and used to taking hits, but he was strong and pushing his wolf behind his strikes. I fell to my knees, winded. Beating an alpha was nearly impossible for anyone who wasn’t an alpha themselves.
Shannon yelled and launched herself, wrapping her arms around his neck, trying to gain a stranglehold. She fixed her legs around his waist, but he was much bigger than her and with the collar around his neck, she couldn’t get a solid purchase.
I jumped back away from the alpha, taking the time to look up. Surely the guards would step in? Nope. They looked on, their weapons trained downwards but apparently not intending to intervene.
The alpha roared and slammed Shannon into the wall. The impact loosened her grip and he threw her off.
