drew in a slow, deep breath. Macy had ordered a bunch of stuff delivered and had used his shower. The sweet-scented body lotion had gone straight to his cock like a breath of sunshine and stayed there.
One of the alarms on the back door went off, effectively crushing his slight daydream.
“It’s them,” Hayden said.
“I want to know how the hell they breached the back door.” Hitch spun around in his chair before touching the middle of his black rimmed glasses and moved them up his nose. Equally dark hair fell over his brow and he shook that back before adjusting the glasses again.
“We invited them in,” Jaxon rasped.
“We what?” Hitch looked aghast.
“We left the side door unlocked,” Hayden offered as further explanation.
Macy snickered when Hitch’s throat moved with a hard swallow.
“Oh, okay.” Hitch blinked, wide eyed.
“You’ll be fine in here with Jett and Nathan. They can’t get through that door unless you let them in,” Logan assured the young agent before pointing to the steel plated door.
The door was one of many that led into the warehouse and was built to withstand an attack. The warehouse had been in the possession of the US Marshals for a decade and had seen many a battle. Or so Marshal Mac Mackenzie had told him.
“Good.” Hitch gave a huge sigh of relief.
“I got your back,” Nathan offered the skittish young man.
Hitch chewed on his lip before he turned and continued setting up his laptop, plus a monitor he’d brought to help with the visuals. Hitch had been able to tap into the outside monitors, but hadn’t as of yet hooked up inside access. It wasn’t the best view because parts of the building’s exterior were hidden from the camera angle, but it was the best they could do on such short notice.
Jaxon slapped a cartridge into his semi-automatic weapon and Hitch jumped.
“Easy,” Hayden scolded the big man. “You’re scaring the children.”
Jaxon shot Hayden a flat look, causing the smoking hot guy to laugh.
“How much damage is too much?” Hayden turned to Alexander.
“Don’t worry about damage, I’ll cover the cost,” Logan interrupted before Alexander could respond. He tucked extra clips into his windbreaker.
Macy took several clips from the table and shoved one into his Glock and the rest into his pockets.
“I’ll help with the cost since this is my shit show,” Logan explained.
“Absolutely not!”
He thought it would be Macy who argued, instead it was Alexander.
“I spoke to the Assistant Director. Forest is prepared to cover the cost of apprehending Siegel.”
Alexander turned to Hitch. “Did you get the news out?”
“I did. The word on the street is that Cobalt Security has moved to a temporary location, reason unknown.”
“Think Siegel will buy it?” Macy asked, strapping on an FBI bulletproof vest.
“I’m not sure,” Logan responded. “But if I were Siegel, I’d at least check it out.”
“The goal is to take one or more of these guys alive. We need to get Siegel’s location out of them,” Macy said, reminding the men.
“If Siegel isn’t with them.” He side eyed Macy.
“Right, that.” Macy grinned at him and he couldn’t help but smile.
The rest of his men agreed except for Jaxon, who sighed. Logan knew the why for the sigh, Jaxon was a fighter. He lived for the thrill of the hunt, but more for the kill.
“Don’t worry.” Hayden, who knew Jaxon best, tossed the bodyguard a grin and cackled, “You’ll get to shoot someone.” He said the words like a promise.
“Such a smartass.” Jaxon squinted at Hayden, but it didn’t seem to faze the smirking man.
The pair had been best friends before coming to work for him. He’d wondered about their relationship, but Hayden assured him they were only friends, and Jaxon insisted that fucking Hayden would have been like screwing his little brother. Of course, the flash of something on Hayden’s face at those words had Logan wondering, but he’d seen no signs of anything other than friendship between the two.
Macy smoothed a hand down a tight-fitting shirt. At his office, the man had changed into all black attire and the material stretched, fitting like a glove to every single bit of his slim, sexy body. It took Logan a second to realize that the room had gone quiet and another second to realize Macy was waiting for an answer from him, but he had no idea of the question.
“What?” he said.
“Ready?” The blue in Macy’s eyes sparkled along with the laughter.
“Of course,” he responded, ignoring the laughter because of the seriousness of the situation, but more
