and his eyes are full of so much love and wonder I feel overwhelmed by it in the best possible way. “How did you do it?”
“Do you remember when we first met at Le Rêve, and you asked me what my future would look like, and I couldn’t answer?”
He nods.
“I finally found the answer. And I realized, with my magic, I could manipulate the different potential future realities to my will. If I could envision my future with enough clarity and emotion, I could choose the one I want and call it into existence. You and Dean and Declan gave me that clarity.”
I’m euphoric as I scan my own thoughts and feelings, exploring the memories of this new life, of this new me.
Logan kisses my head and wipes at his own eyes as emotion overtakes him as well.
When we part, he looks down at my shirt and smiles. “I like it. It suits you.”
Across the house, I hear the beeping of the alarm as the front door opens and I stiffen, still worried something will go terribly wrong. Logan takes my hand and we walk out of my office to see who’s here.
My heart breaks open when I see Dean and Declan standing in the entry, looking around. Declan notices us first, and his wolf flares in his green eyes at the sight and scent of me, just as my wolf does for him.
He crosses the room in long strides and crushes his mouth to mine, pinning my body against his as he cups my face with his large hand and claims my lips. I dive into the kiss, satiating my needs as best I can with the contact I’m so desperate for. That my wolf is so desperate for.
Dean is next, pulling me from his brother’s arms to hold me tightly in his. “I’ve never experienced anything like that. You’re incredible,” he whispers into my ear, his lips brushing against my flesh sending thrills of pleasure up my spine.
When he releases me, we all take stock of our home and our new memories. I look around, studying the art, the furniture, our personal belongings.
Dean whistles as he looks outside to the expansive Pacific Ocean. We can hear the waves crashing on the shore from the living room. “That’s some view.”
Each of us has our own bedrooms, though I imagine I won’t be sleeping alone in mine often. The thought of having all three of them with me forever makes me giddy with joy.
“Is this really our life now?” I ask, once we are all back in the living room.
Logan is in the kitchen making drinks for everyone and Dean and Declan are lounging on the couch, me between them, like they can’t let me out of their sight for even a minute.
Logan returns, handing me a cocktail. “It is, thanks to you.”
I take the drink, as do Dean and Declan.
Logan sits across from us and sips his own.
“So, does this work? We haven’t really talked much about our unusual relationship,” I say. “It’s kind of unconventional.”
The guys all laugh. “You just created an entirely new reality. Twice.” Declan says. “I think we’re all fine with unconventional.”
“So… none of you mind sharing?”
Logan shares a meaningful look with the brothers, and they nod. A tension I didn’t realize I was carrying leaves when Logan smiles. “You are our queen, as you always have been,” he says, pulling from memories that are fading so fast now, like a bad dream.
Except not all bad. I found these three in that nightmare. And… even more importantly, I found myself.
When the doorbell rings, I flinch, still feeling a bit untethered to this reality.
Declan growls and goes to answer it. I hope whoever it is plays nice, or they might get eaten by the big bad wolf.
The voice that greets me makes everything in my heart melt.
I turn, tears already streaming down my face. “Estelle?”
My twin looks back at me, her hair pulled up, her makeup fresh, her smile bright. “Hey! You all ready to go? I think you’re going to get quite a crowd tonight.”
She holds up a postcard that reads:
