For The Win (Gamer Girls, #6) - Auryn Hadley Page 0,174
"Hey, Rhaven?"
"Yeah? And congrats on little Ryan, Kitty. I heard you're the most amazing mom ever."
"Second most," Dread joked. "Equal to Myst? I can go with a tie for first."
"I'm good with a tie," Murder agreed.
"Guys!" Kitty laughed. "No, I want to know about this boyfriend. See, my sister and brother came home telling stories, and rumor has it that someone's working on the gamer girl convention reputation. Heard you ended up dragging Psyc into a room!"
Psyc groaned. "It was Braden's room, I was drunk on Captain Morgan's, and the couches at Ice's hotels are actually amazing. I'd also like to say - for the record - that I didn't puke. Hate to break it to you, Kitty, but nothing kinky happened."
Rhaven's mouth fell open, but it began to curl higher a second later. That wasn't what she'd expected. She'd been braced for this to be a bit awkward or to become some story like Riley's night with Murder had become. Instead, Psyc had just lied through his teeth, and she felt her anxiety vanish. He'd promised it wouldn't be weird, and it wasn't. Her friend really and truly was back.
"So, does that mean the official boyfriend is Braden then?" Kitty asked. "I missed all the fun because of this adorable little parasite." And then she began cooing, proving the baby had to be right beside her.
"Braden and I are a thing," Rhaven confirmed. "Um, and just so you don't need to get the information from Cynister, yes, we're living together now."
"Whoa," Murder said. "Like, not a temp thing?"
Movement caught her eye, so Rhaven turned her chair to find Braden leaning against the doorframe, smiling at her. She could feel her face getting warmer, but that was one thing she definitely wanted to answer.
"Not a temp thing," she said. "Nope, for me, this is serious. He's perfect, and I'm kinda feeling overwhelmed with all the good stuff."
Braden's smile got a little bigger, but then he mimed scooping food into his mouth and then pointed to her. She nodded, so he pointed at the desk, and she nodded again. Braden flashed a thumbs up and then disappeared, but the gamers were all laughing and doing their best to give her shit for her change of relationship status. It was worse than updating Facebook!
Then Kate spoke up. "Sounds like we definitely need a girl's night, Rhae. I just want to hear about how big his dick is."
"Me too!" Riley said.
"Add me to the list," Kitty agreed. "Although, ow. No. But I'll appreciate the knowledge in a few more weeks."
Rhaven laughed. "Zara?"
"I can neither confirm nor deny... Jason! No! Yes! Crysis help!"
Which sent them all into another round of laughter, because clearly Cynister had no intention of his woman hearing about another man's dick. Not that Rhaven would tell. Well, except Kate, but that was different. It was the best friend code. Still, this was what she'd needed. Hearing all of the guys suddenly proclaim that they either had a twelve inch - or a two inch - dick was the best part, though.
"I'm sure you're all amazingly impressive," Rhaven joked. "No, really. Hung like horses. I mean, might be seahorses. Maybe rocking horses?"
"Hey," Murder said. "It's not the size that matters, Rhaven. Trust me. It's how you use it."
"No," Kitty said. "Size matters. Anyone tries to tell you anything else, and she's just doing her best to make you feel better."
Murder gasped. "But you said it was how I use it that was most important."
"That was before you knocked me up," Kitty teased.
Rhaven was laughing when an arm reached across her shoulder to put a plate before her. "Eat before you try to shoot," Braden said, close enough to activate her mic.
"Oh," Psyc groaned. "Someone's getting spoiled!"
"Yeah, I am," Rhaven agreed.
"Tell him to log in," Psyc said.
She turned. "Psyc said you should log into TeamSpeak."
He nodded. "Gimme a sec."
"He's on his way," she promised.
In a few seconds, Braden had his laptop running and was pulling on his headphones. He crammed a bit of his dinner into his mouth, reminding Rhaven that she really was starving, and then joined the channel. She'd just leaned over for a bite when his voice came through her headset.
"Hey, guys! I was summoned?" Braden said.
"Brae," Psyc said, "heard there's been some stuff. Anything we can do to help?"
"You mean with Rhaven?" he asked. "KoG hit the forums bad this weekend, and we all got some overtime cleaning it up, but they've been kinda quiet since yesterday."
