for future enquiries if the unfortunate need arose after this phone call.
“Miss Eyre,” she said making me roll my eyes,
“Jane Eyre?”
“Yes, that’s right…oh wait, wasn’t that a book or something?” she asked making me roll my eyes.
“Just patch me through!” I snapped before hearing it ring and ring and fucking ring until I was back with the receptionist.
“I am sorry Sir, but it seems…”
“Try again!” I snapped cutting her off and making her do just that. But once again it continued to ring, making me snarl,
“Pick up the phone, Gods be damned!”
“I am sorry, Sir, but perhaps you could try later?” The receptionist suggested making me want to throw the fucking phone against the wall as my answer.
“No, she is there!” I growled out.
“Then perhaps she doesn’t want to…”
“Take this phone to her room!” I demanded.
“I am sorry, Sir, I can’t do that,” she told me, clearly shocked.
“Why the fuck not, is it attached to the fucking wall?”
“Well, no it’s handsfree but I cannot exactly go harassing the guests,” she argued back making me close to snapping and using mind control on this bitch despite the information I needed from her. Because the possibility of doing so might render her useless, depending on her state of mind…because honestly, I wasn’t sure I wouldn’t just go too far. I wasn’t exactly what you could call in control and restraint was close to becoming just a fucking word that meant nothing but failure.
“Just fucking do it!” I snapped making her say more firmly this time,
“I am sorry, Sir, but it is like I said, I cannot force a guest to…oh wait, here she is,” she said making me suddenly tense, my hand needing to find the wall to hold myself steady.
“Put her on the phone.” I forced the command through my lips on a barely held back snarl. Then I heard her sweet voice and I swear I actually sighed in relief.
“I am sorry, but do you mind giving us a minute?” The receptionist replied with some nonsense and I held my breath waiting for her.
“What do you want, Lucius?” she said in a tone that said it all, making me unable to stop myself from snapping,
“What do I want…? What the fuck do you think I want, Amelia…? Get your ass back home now!” Gods in fucking Hell, I was so angry!
“I am not a child, Luc, and I can do whatever the Hell I want with my life,” she said calmly but the second she called me Luc, I knew what little patience I’d had before this phone call just evaporated. She never called me Luc and I hated hearing it coming from her lips. She wasn’t Fae to me or even Faith, she was and always would be my Amelia and the same went for her.
I was her Lucius.
“Yeah and just how long is that life going to last out there unprotected?!” I threw back at her, wondering if she had even considered the dangers of being out there alone.
Her answer said it all,
“I think I have proven enough times how capable I am at surviving on my own, so if you don’t mind, I have shit to do, so I will…” Once again this forced my hand to crush the nearest door frame as I threatened,
“Don’t you dare hang up! So, help me, by the Gods, I will…”
“You will what, Luc, huh…because last time I checked you already ripped out my fucking heart and stepped on it, so what…you wanna see what more damage you can do?!” she threw back at me and I swear it was like receiving a verbal slap, one that continued to sting through my next set of words…words that were said in hopes of actually getting through to her.
“You have this completely wrong and if you had just waited for five fucking minutes before running off then you would have given me the time to explain that!”
“I know what I saw, and I know what I heard, which means that I don’t need your interpretation of events to clarify shit! We are done, we are over and quicker you get that through your stubborn, royal ass head the better this will be! So, you can just quit pretending to give a shit and run back off to mummy dearest and tell her that you tried your best!” After this I was actually forced to take a step back as if she had been here in front of me. As if she had her
