and continue to watch her watch everything.

The Pierre is my place in Manhattan when I need a break from the club. As it’s owned by a good friend of mine, I’m afforded peace I would not get at the club. We’re escorted in by his house security and led up to the penthouse I’m always given, no matter the time or day.

The view overlooks Central Park, and it’s the first thing that attracts the attention of my kitten. She’s a vision with the huge windows in front of her, and with her beautiful body on display, Central Park has never looked better.

She twirls her body around, taking in the living room of our penthouse. “Chadwick, I don’t have the words.” With a crook of my neck, I give her a little glare. “I don’t have the words, Sir.”

My body is missing her next to me. “Shit, is this all it takes to shut you up?” I close the space between us.

She playfully slugs me. “Yeah, it’s what you need to do, spend ten thousand dollars on a beautiful hotel.”

Only ten thousand? It’s what I almost say, but Eve’s never been impressed with my money. And this may be one of the many reasons she’s claiming my heart minute by minute. Our bet has been more than just a bet for some time.

“So…” Her voice lowers to a tone I’ve never heard from her. If I had to dub this pitch, I’d call it her seductive timbre. “What are you up to if you’re not introducing me to the New York club?”

I cage her against the windows. “At this point, Kitten, you have the gist of what I’m about—what my clubs are about. I mean, there’s more, but tonight, it’s you and me and the city of New York. Whatever you want.”

“Whatever?” She taps her chin, and her eyes dance with mischief.

“Kitten.” I pull her body flush to mine, and in this move, I harden, and her growl makes it almost nearly impossible not to toss her over my shoulder, take her to my room, and throw her on the bed I plan to fuck her on tonight. My mind is lost, and my erection is building, wanting Eve as much as my heart needs her.

“You were saying?” she reminds me.

“Yes, Kitten, as I was saying—anything. You want to see Hamilton, I’ll have tickets for tonight’s show. You’d like a carriage ride in the park, I’ll make sure there’s champagne. You want a helicopter ride, no problem.”

Her laugh causes my hardness to strain farther against my slacks. “You’re telling me you can get tickets to a show which has been sold out for months.”

“Oh, Kitten.” I lift her chin to mine. “I’m a man who gets things done.”

“Hmm, I have an idea, and I’m almost positive you’ll love it so much.” I know sarcasm in Eve, and I don’t think I’ll enjoy this—however, what can I say—I’ll do anything for her.

“Okay, Kitten, lead the way.” She pulls at my hand, dragging me to the bedroom I had both our stuff moved into for the night. I don’t want to sleep away from her, even if I simply hold her. She grabs jeans, a long-sleeved top, and her Converse sneakers. “Change into some jeans, Sir,” she commands.

Following her out of the penthouse, we start toward the elevator, all while she’s typing like a banshee on her phone.

A double decker bus with a hot dog and Pepsi is not my kind of wow you date, but as we stand in line, she backs into my embrace, my arms around her waist. I move my head around her face, kissing her cheeks.

“I’m so excited. I did this with a friend the only time I’ve been here. We didn’t have much money and stayed in a sketchy hotel in the Bronx, but it was one of the best trips in my life.”

The line begins to move, and we make it to the top of the bus, and my hand doesn’t leave her knees. I give her the inside seat and watch New York from her eyes and facial expressions. “This is the best view!” she yells, not turning her head as we start on the Manhattan Bridge, taking in the Brooklyn Bridge.

The entire ride takes less than an hour, but it’s an hour of my life I think will always play out in my mind.

I lean down, putting my lips by her ear. “Don’t leave me when our time is up. I know we can
