Temptation - Leigh Lennon Page 0,48

bay, but I can still detect it.

“We’re heading to New York.”

She stands with her hands around her chest. “But we just got here.”

“I know, and we’ll come back one day.” She looks away from me. Fuck, in her mind, she’s still gone in ten days. “Listen, Kitten, please get in the shower. I have a surprise for you.”

A smile spreads across her face, reaching her eyes. “Just a suggestion, but you should have led with that, Sir.” She’s out of the living room quickly, and when I hear the shower start, I make my way to my own shower. I’ve not been able to get the look of lust and desire from her face as she watched the little show I arranged for her out of my mind, and it fuels my hope for both of us.

I give Tillie and Embry a ride back to New York. Eve chats with them the whole way, asking questions upon questions about their lives. “So you have a Dom and you are a Domme?”

Embry and Tillie are holding hands, and it makes my kitten more confused. “I guess it’s the simple answer at the end of the day.”

“And your Dom? Does he dominate you both?”

Embry answers this time. “If that’s what he wants, yes.”

The wheels are turning in her head, and I know she has so many questions for me. But since last night, we’ve been closer, holding hands or touching in some sort of way. The second we deplane, Gio has a car for his girls to bring them straight back to the club and another one for us.

“Are we not checking out the club tonight?” she asks.

“We’re doing something different today.” I sure hope this works because today I’ll attempt to convince Eve I can be what she needs and she can be what I want.

Eve has made friends for life with Embry and Tillie, promising to keep in touch. When I’m able to pull her away from them, my own car is waiting to take us to the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

“The Pierre,” I call out to the driver before he closes the partition. I wasn’t sure if she’s familiar with the splendor of this hotel, but with a small smile and a sparkle in her eye, she silently tells me she is.

“Upper East Side?” she questions, and I answer with a nod. It’s my intention to be as ominous about tonight as possible.

“What are you up to?” Her tone is questioning but playful as she gently swats my arm, attempting to tickle me. I stay muted on this subject as her guesses make me laugh. I can do simple; well, as simple as I can get. But tonight, my plan is to show her the everyday side of me. The man who can wine and dine her, take her to a nice restaurant, and then love her the way she deserves to be loved. I’ve seldom done this—well, never—but then again, I’ve never had a girl like Eve before.

Her eyes absorb all this city has to offer. Regardless of the time, it’s always hopping, and she never removes her gaze from the skyline. I study her, admiring every glimmer or smile that brightens her face. I still can’t put my finger on how this girl is so different. Is it because she won’t put up with my shit but understands my assholeness? Is it the smile that overtakes her face when she’s about to disobey me even though it’s more like a challenge in her book? Is it the way she pulls her hair back from her eyes and stares into nothing, her mind working on overdrive? Or could it be how she has adapted after her mother abandoned her and the man she called dad neglected all her needs? Then maybe it’s her laugh, which is so fucking loud but infectious at the same time. It could be the other thousand things this girl next to me does that drives me crazy.

I don’t move, and I don’t try to touch her. I need to hold onto this moment. I make a mental note of the deep red color of her dress and the large gold hoop earrings along with the quirky bracelets that take up a good portion of her wrist. Her honey brown hair is pulled up in a bun on the top of her head. Reaching for my phone, I snap a picture of her so quick, she doesn’t even flinch. I replace my phone
