Tap Out (Reaper's Den Book One) - Nikki Mays Page 0,48
I wake up in Vegas.”
I can feel his whole body moving as he chuckles. “Drug you?” He laughs. “Nah, you said it yourself how much wine you bought. I just have to wait for you to get yourself drunk.”
I can feel my eye start to twitch. “Danny.” I growl.
“Stacey.” He replies in mock seriousness.
“I’m going back downstairs and getting away from your annoying and crazy butt.” Okay, I’m not going to lie, part of me is extremely happy that he can actually see himself married to me. But I will push his ass in front of a bus myself if I end up in Vegas with this fool. I swear that I will kill him. I have been dreaming about my wedding day since I was a little girl and in no part of my dream does it take place in Vegas.
He pulls me into him even further like I’m nothing more than a rag doll. How he still has so much strength with only one good arm is mystifying…okay it’s really freaking hot. “One more kiss and then we can go back downstairs.”
I give him another kiss. If it lasts a little longer that it should, so be it. I pull away before giving him one last small peck on his lips. “I said that I was going downstairs to get away from your annoying self.” I whisper against his lips. “Plus, you have paperwork that you have to get done.” I quickly scoot out of his arms and out of reach. I give him a wide smile. “Have fun with that!” I give him a little wave before power walking towards his office door.
I look back before walking out and the miserable scowl on his face will stay with me the rest of his life.
“But.” He starts before I shake my head.
“Sorry honey, you’re the big bad boss around here. That means paperwork.” I blow him a kiss and shut his door to him muttering something, most likely curses.
Once the door is closed I can’t help but crack up the whole walk downstairs. There is nothing that man hates more than sitting still and doing paperwork.
I shouldn’t get so much enjoyment out of his misery, but oh well. I’m a petty bitch some days.
Danny
It’s been a few weeks since Stace and I have been back together. Her and I have spent very little time apart. Truthfully, the only time that we’re actually apart is when she’s working. On her days off, her and Kealy are both permanent fixtures around the gym. Jameson and Edge have even convinced them that it would be best for them to practice all of the self-defense moves on each other. Stacey started to protest until Edge got in her personal space and asked her what she would do if a man his size came up to her in the parking deck at her job.
You could actually see the moment that it clicked for her that the fucking parking garage at her work can be a seriously dangerous place. After that, both women decided that it would be a good idea.
I even bought him a bottle of some expensive ass whiskey as a thank you for making sure that my woman is protected. I can’t always be with her, unfortunately, and I like the idea that she’ll be able to handle herself enough to get away from any scumbag that tries anything.
Things between us are even better than they were before. Sleeping with her in my arms every night has been a balm to my soul. My dick on the other hand has been in pain without any relief.
Sage decided to tell the girls about the whole Vegas thing and I had to listen to an earful from all three of my teenage demons about how they’ll kill me if I scare her away by moving too fast. As much as I love the fact that they fully approve of Stacey, something that really shows how amazing my woman is since my girls are very picky when it comes to me, I’m really starting to get a little butt hurt that they keep trying to kill me off. I’m really thinking that I might need to take them off my life insurance policy. I’m kidding….a little.
But I did take their advice and have made sure to take things slow with Stace, as much as it’s killing me, they’re right. We may be sleeping in the same bed, but the only thing that happens is
