yanked over that cliff again. It wasn’t a build up, it wasn’t a little pleasure. It was a freaking storm that blew right through her, her core exploding, her body set on fire as she was ripped apart from head to toe.
Her neck flipped back, her scream so guttural if anyone was walking by, they’d think a murder was taking place. She clenched around him so tightly he couldn’t move as she shook and flexed, her orgasm growing stronger instead of diminishing.
He let out his own cry as he pumped, barely able to move within her as her walls clasped him tight. But with another thrust, his yell chorused with hers as she felt him pulse over and over within her.
The flashes of lights she’d seen earlier were nothing compared to the lightshow flashing behind her lids in those glorious moments of pleasure. They stretched on and on as she clung to him, her arms and legs vices around his body.
It took minutes for the intensity to allow her to let go. With the final shudders of her body, she went lax, her arms falling, her legs going limp. Her head was still spinning as her lips turned up, her smile bright. And then she shocked herself when a laugh burst from deep down in her diaphragm.
Carl slowly slid off her, making her moan as he pulled from her. She instantly felt empty, but she’d been filled with so much pleasure she couldn’t stop the giggling. He pulled her against him and scowled.
“Should I be offended?” he asked, his voice raspy, raw, and absolutely beautiful.
“Oh no, no, no,” she said between giggles. “I didn’t know something like that could happen. I didn’t understand why sex was so coveted. I knew release was good, but I didn’t know a release could be that,” she said, her breathing shallow, her body on fire.
“Yeah, I didn’t know either,” he said, sounding confused.
She wasn’t going to push that one. She wanted to believe it had been just as spectacular for him as it had for her. She knew it had been great, but she suspected it was great for him every time. But she’d rather think it was a connection shared between them and no one else. That made all of her pleasure buttons fire on red.
He pulled her closer to his side, her head resting on his chest. She wanted to talk more about what had just happened, but she felt as if she’d run a marathon and couldn’t keep her eyes open.
She was still smiling when she fell asleep, secure in his arms, his hands tracing her slick skin. She didn’t want to ever move from this bed. She didn’t want to leave this man’s side. He’d literally sexed her into submission — and the scariest part of all was that she didn’t care.
Chapter Twenty
Two Years ago
Eyes flashed the pretty blonde reporter his most brilliant smile and gave her a wink that turned her cheeks a sexy shade of pink. She licked her red lips before glancing down at the notebook on her lap and shifting in her seat.
“I saw her first,” Sleep said in a loud whisper.
“Yeah, but I’m cuter than you,” Eyes replied with a laugh. He looked at the reporter who might be trying to stay professional — but was failing at all the attention she was getting. “Who’s cuter?” Eyes demanded.
She opened and closed her mouth, and there was no doubt in Eyes’s mind that this woman had never had an interview quite like this. He was surprised since she covered foreign military bases. The men knew how to be serious, but they also knew they needed to laugh in the downtime or they’d never make it through the days of hell like they’d experienced in their last battle.
“Let’s just stick with the interview,” Courtney Tucker, their very sexy reporter, said.
“Sorry, can’t do it until you answer,” Eyes said, crossing his arms across his massive chest.
Courtney let out an exaggerated breath as if she were dealing with overgrown children instead of the heroes she’d thought she’d be interviewing. That was her fault for making assumptions.
“I’d say you’re equally average,” she said, giving them both a look that could’ve wilted lesser men. She was attempting to put them in their place. It was quite amusing and very impressive in Eyes’s opinion. He was going to have this woman.
Sleep laughed before slapping Eyes on the back. “I’d say she was talking about you there. I know I’m far from average.”
“I
