To My Arrogant Boss (The Inappropriate Bachelors #2) - J. S. Cooper Page 0,21
wanted him. Badly. It was unfair that he was so good looking and charismatic. I hated that my body had this kind of reaction to him. My heart was the biggest traitor of all. It almost seemed to jump out of my heart each time it saw Tate. Like it wanted to jump right into his pants. But geez, those pants! They fit him like a glove and left nothing to the imagination. He’d been hard in the office and I’d seen the curve of his cock pressing against his pants. I’d wanted to reach out and touch it.
Thank God I hadn’t.
I grabbed my notepad and started crafting my new note to Tate. I’d been debating not sending him another one, but I just couldn’t resist. He was such an asshole. He deserved to know that someone out there was not impressed with him. The only issue was where to place the new note. If I placed it in his gym bag at the office, he would know it was someone in the office, and by the process of elimination, he would obviously know it was me. Realistically, I was most probably at the top of his “who it could be” list anyways, but from the sounds of it, it could also be someone at his gym.
I sat back in my chair and thought about his comments. Had he slept with the lady from the gym, then? Or let her give him a blow job in the steam room? I felt myself growing hot again as I thought about his comment regarding us in the steam room. I’d been turned on and extremely hot at the thought of riding him in a public place. I needed my head examined because it didn’t even sound like a good idea.
I was driving myself crazy. I knew that I was ready to have sex soon, but I just needed to find the right guy. A boyfriend who loved me. I certainly could not and would not lose my virginity to Tate Howard. He was such an asshole that he would never let me forget that he’d taken my cherry. I bet he was the sort of guy that would bring cherries to work for everyone to share just to rub it in. No way, José. I was not going to let him be my first. Even if my body really, really wanted him to be.
“Hey, girl, what time tonight?” Olivia stopped by my desk and I almost jumped out of my chair at the sound of her voice. “Are you okay?”
“Sorry, I was daydreaming and didn’t see you there.”
“No worries.” Olivia laughed. “It’s been a long week, I’m so glad we’re going out tonight. We can party all night long.”
“Didn’t you party last night?”
“Yeah, but I don’t have to wake up early tomorrow morning.” She winked at me, and I laughed.
“What’s so funny?” Millie joined us, yawning slightly.
“We’re just talking about the plan for tonight,” Olivia said with a grin. “Where should we go and what time?”
“Aren’t we going to Booty?” Millie asked.
“I was thinking we were going somewhere before that, right?” Olivia asked. “For some food?”
“Yeah,” I nodded. “I’d be down for some food.”
“Do you guys want to come over to pregame at my place?” Magnolia joined us. “Birdy, come over here a sec!” she called out to the other girl.
“Will Jagger be there?” I asked Magnolia.
“Yeah, but he won’t mind.”
“I won’t mind what?” Tate walked around the corner and came to join us.
“We’re not talking about you,” I snapped. “The world doesn’t revolve around you, Tate Howard.” I regretted the words as soon as they came out of my mouth. I could see the other girls’ eyes go wide and I knew that I had crossed a line. “I mean, maybe half the world does, but not this conversation,” I added quickly with a small smile.
“Uh huh.” Tate smirked at me. “So, who were you talking about?”
“Jagger,” Magnolia answered quickly. “We’re going to pregame at my place tonight, and I was just saying that he wouldn’t care.”
“Oh, awesome.” Tate nodded. “Sounds like fun. Maybe I’ll join as well.”
“Oh …” Magnolia bit down on her lower lip. “It was going to be a girls thing.”
“But Jagger will be there, so not really.” Tate laughed. “I could also host if you want.”
“You can host next time.” Millie sounded excited. “I can’t wait to see your bachelor pad.”
