Moving On (Rolling Thunder #7) - P.J. Fiala Page 0,71
expected it. But, it didn't seem rehearsed or over the top."
"Yes." His hand wrapped around the back of his nape, and he rubbed his neck.
"Does it seem too good to be true?"
"I don't know." She shrugged and swiveled her head from side to side.
"Tell me what's bugging you. I need to know."
"It's stupid."
"Hey." He waited until she looked up at him. His fingers tucked under her chin and he stared into her eyes, which honestly wasn't a hardship. "I need to know."
She swallowed what looked to be a lump in her throat. "The women are gorgeous. I saw..." She stopped and swallowed. "I saw the way they looked at you. That's a lot of temptation to have to wade through every day."
He leaned down and kissed her lips. Tender. Soft. Gentle.
"Don't you notice how the men look at you?"
Her brows furrowed. "Honestly, Lu, you don't see it? They look into your gorgeous eyes, then their eyes travel to your voluptuous breasts, and as you walk away, they are all looking at your fantastic ass. I can't believe you don't see it."
Her fingers twisted in her lap and she shook her head. "I'm too busy worrying about which of the women I'm going to have to beat off with a stick for you."
He chuckled. "I'll tell you which ones. None of them. Sweetheart, I've waited three years for you. More if you count the years prior that I was so fucking in love with you and all you could see was Dog. I only want you."
A lone tear slid down her right cheek and he wiped it away with the back of his fingers. Kissing her lips once more he deepened his kiss to show her he meant what he said. And he did, he only wanted her. If he'd been enticed at all while she was in prison it was by Olivia, and even then he wasn't all that interested or he would have made time for her.
He rubbed his nose gently against hers then sat back. Looking over her shoulder at the house once more, he said, "Should we call and set a time while we're here to see the inside?"
"I can arrange that."
She tapped out an email to the agent listed on the internet listing and he continued around the lake looking at the homes, but not seeing anything he liked better than the one they'd stopped in front of.
Hopefully, there wouldn't be any downside shown to him tomorrow.

She sat nervously with Chase in Gil's office as he finished a telephone call. He genuinely seemed like a good boss. No one was edgy or cold around him and she'd watched when they first walked into the store to see how the employees treated each other. Her only experience in a bike shop was at Rolling Thunder, but one thing she knew for sure, Dog insisted problems be dealt with immediately, so they didn't fester, and he was kind to everyone. Look how he'd treated her even when she was being a bitch to Joci. That thought left her stomach sour, so she turned her head and looked at the pictures on the wall and tried to focus on something else.
"Okay, I'm sorry I had to take that. We're working on a new supplier for some of our clothing and I needed to get that taken care of."
Chase leaned forward, elbows on his knees, "It's just fine. It gives me a chance to see how you operate."
Gil laughed and she thought again about Santa. A handsome Santa. "That's good. From what I understand Dog treats all of his employees very well, so I get you don't want to leave a good place only to jump into a bad one. No worries at all and when you and I are finished talking, you are welcome to walk around and chat with any of the employees. I promise I didn't tell them to lie to you."
"Good to know." Chase chuckled.
"So, should we go and see the design shop?"
Gil stood and so did she and Chase. As Gil walked to the door, he chuckled. "You're gonna love this."
Exiting his office, they walked two offices down the hall to a nice office with two desks in it. There was a large computer screen and two smaller ones attached to the same computer.
"From what the salesperson told me, you'd need multiple screens to fully create, show parts lists, different color schemes and the like, so we bought the whole caboodle. No one here knows
