on the stick and keep my fingers crossed.
My period is eight days late and I’ve never been late in my life before. I’m really hoping that I’m pregnant with Cade’s child. I just hope he’ll be as happy as I will be.
Closing my eyes, taking a deep breath, I turn the stick over and open my eyes.
Oh my god. Oh my god.
Pregnant!
Shit, do I rush in and tell Cade or wait until we are married?
Tell him now.
Taking another deep breath, trying not to let my excitement show, I walk back towards the bed.
I look over to Cade, who’s lying on his side, wide awake, propped up with his head in his hands staring at me with deep love and affection.
“Come back to bed?”
Seeing me raise an eyebrow, “I just want to hold you.”
“That would be nice.” I climb back into bed and into Cade’s arms.
Tell him now
“Cade?”
“Yes?”
“You know how we haven’t been using birth control?” At this he stills and tilts my chin up looking into my eyes.
Looking back into Cades eyes, I can see all his love for me, “I’m pregnant.... we’re going to have a baby.”
Silence. He places his forehead against mine and whispers, “Thank you.... I love you.... You have made me the happiest guy in the world today, not only are you going to become my wife, but we are going to have a baby too.... wow.”
“Are you really alright with me being pregnant?” I try to hold back my tears of joy.
“Oh love, I’m more than alright.... I just hope it’s a little girl who looks just like her mother.”
Crying openly, Cade pulls me into his arms stroking my back. “I’m so happy Cade, and I feel as though I’m dreaming.”
“If we’re dreaming then I don’t want to wake up.”
“I’m so excited I could burst.... Rona Matthews.... I like the sound of that.”
“Not as much as I do.” Cade kisses me.
~~ Cade ~~
I’m going to be a dad again and this time it’s with Rona. The woman I love with all my heart.
Standing under the wedding pergola, decorated with hundreds of fresh flowers, my stomach is in a tight knot awaiting Rona’s arrival.
I haven’t seen her since this morning when she was whisked away by two of the resort staff, taking her for the full ‘bride to be’ treatments – whatever they are.
Before we left Jackson Hole, I’d asked Rona what she wanted me to wear today. She chose white linen trousers with a granddad style linen shirt in pale green; to match my eyes she said. I’ve had a bit of trouble getting the flower for my buttonhole to stay put. I’m not wearing a jacket, but providing I don’t make any quick movements, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Looking back towards the entrance of the pergola, I see a vision in white, offering me a nervous smile.
I’m so lucky. She looks amazing.
Walking towards me, I can’t take my eyes from her. She’s wearing a long white dress which is fitted to her curves, with a loose neck falling between her breasts. Her engagement ring has been transferred to her right hand for the ceremony. I noticed she did this before heading off this morning.
Around her throat she’s wearing the diamond tear drop pendant which I purchased from the jewelers in Dubai, along with matching earrings.
Her hair has been curled and hangs loosely down her back with the front swept up from her face; jeweled clips holding it in place.
There is only one word to describe her.... Stunning.
~~ Rona ~~
Walking towards Cade, he looks agitated until he turns around and sees me. Then, he goes completely relaxed as he looks at me and I see his eyes fill with love and excitement.
He looks so handsome in his linen shirt and trousers.
Now, standing in front of Cade, Lalaina takes my orchid bouquet and places it on a table to the side. Cade takes hold of my hands, kissing my knuckles, “You look stunning.”
Smiling, “You don’t look so bad yourself.”
Clearing his throat waiting for us to turn towards him, the Master of Ceremonies then begins our wedding vows.
Before I know it we are up to exchanging of rings. Cade bought my wedding band at the same time as my engagement ring. He had forgotten to buy himself one, so we’d taken a trip to the jewelers in Dubai to correct that.
Cade takes hold of my left hand and as he’s placing the wedding band on my finger, looking into my eyes he says, “Rona, wear this ring
