Logan (Dad Bod Doms #1) - Golden Angel Page 0,22

to role play, but that had ended with her snorting in laughter, even as he spanked her for laughing at him. To be fair, his accent had been terrible.

They hadn’t watched anything together in a while. Logan made a mental note to suggest doing that. Just sitting down to watch television together was easily something they could do more often, instead of separating to their own corners of the house in the evening.

“I’ll text you the website. You’ll have to fill out some paperwork before you go, but you shouldn’t have any trouble. If you do, just let me know, and I’ll get it handled.” Since Will served as a sometimes-bouncer at Stronghold, the club he belonged to, he had the connections to help out if there was an issue. “You know, I was just thinking about you the other day. Leyla came into Stronghold over the weekend, and it made me think Faris and the rest of you.”

“This past weekend?” Logan asked, blinking in surprise. While Faris had been camping with him and the other guys? Faris hadn’t mentioned anything about her going to the club, especially not without him.

“Yeah, she was showing one of her friends around,” Will said cheerfully, seemingly unaware of the havoc he’d just caused. But then, why would he suspect anything was wrong? The only reason Logan did was because of some of the things Faris had said before they’d made their pact. Still, showing a friend around was innocent enough. Maybe Faris hadn’t mentioned it because it wasn’t a big deal. “They seemed to have a good time.”

“That’s good,” Logan said, pulling into the parking lot of his work. Thanking Will profusely for his help, Logan got off the phone, concerned for Faris but also excited for himself and Felicity. Sitting in the car, he shot off a quick text to Faris.

Hey, man, just wanted to check in and see how you and Leyla are doing.

He’d barely gotten out of the car when he got the text back.

Pretty good. You and Felicity?

Logan’s mouth twisted wryly. Should he mention what Will told him? If Faris didn’t know… but then if he did, he might not appreciate Logan assuming he didn’t. Their kinks were a little more complicated than his and Felicity’s, and Logan didn’t want to step on his toes.

Getting there, he texted back. Setting up a trip to a club.

He hoped Faris would say something more revealing to give Logan a clue how to respond. A few moments went by, but he waited, just in case and was rewarded with the dot dot dot of an incoming text.

LOL! Doing the same thing. For this coming Friday.

There was another pause.

I’m done waiting. I’m making this happen.

Logan grinned.

Good for you, man. Good for you.

Reassured, even if Faris hadn’t known about Leyla’s little excursion, he would find out this weekend, Logan relaxed and headed into work. He had his own wife to worry about.

Felicity

The weeks until her trip with Logan seemed to fly by, particularly since the days were just a little easier than they’d been before, which made such a difference. So did Trish and Marie’s presence on the weekends. Somehow, two kids still seemed to outnumber the four adults at times, but it was still better than one-to-one odds.

Outside of the kids, things with Logan were better than ever. They’d taken to watching an episode of something together every night, taking turns picking what they watched. It wasn’t the same as a date night, but she felt so much more connected to him than she had in weeks.

He’d finally confessed, he and his friends had dubbed themselves the Dad Bod Doms—which she found hilarious—and they had all vowed to fix their relationships by next year’s trip. Hearing that had stung a little. She didn’t like to think they needed “fixing,” even though they clearly had needed something, but it helped to know they weren’t alone.

When people talked about relationships being work, it didn’t mean they should be hard. She realized it meant it became easy to coast, to do the bare minimum. But everything needed to be nurtured, or else it started to wilt. They’d started to wilt a bit, but it had only taken a little work to turn things around.

Yeah, Logan had gotten a little gung-ho and gone about it in the wrong way when he’d first got home from camping, but that hadn’t been the worst thing in the world. Now, they were going on their first trip as a couple
