Logan (Dad Bod Doms #1) - Golden Angel Page 0,21
leaned down to give him a kiss that lingered a little longer than her normal goodbye kisses. Logan grinned up at her.
“Have a good day. I love you.” The same words he said every morning when she kissed him goodbye, but they felt less routine and more sincere this morning.
“Love you, too.” Felicity grinned back and headed out the door.
Logan turned his attention back to the kids, who were both looking at him with odd expressions on their faces.
“What?”
“You and Mommy are being gross,” Oliver said, wrinkling his nose.
“We do this every morning.”
“Yeah, but today it’s gross.”
Well, if that wasn’t a resounding confirmation this morning’s goodbye had been a little different, Logan didn’t know what was.
Amused and encouraged, Logan got the kids off to daycare, feeling a sense of relief he would not be the one picking them up today. Strangely, he didn’t feel as tired as he had two days ago, but he was still glad Felicity would be driving them home. He might take a few minutes to decompress when he first got home, but then he’d join them in the kitchen rather than sit on the couch and wait for dinner to be ready. Small things, but he had a feeling—just like this morning—they would make a big difference.
On the way to work, he called one of his friends. Although Felicity had agreed to go away with him, Logan had very specific plans of what he would like to do, he just wasn’t sure where he could go to do it. It had been a long time since he and Felicity had gone to a club or even a munch. Thankfully, his old friend Will picked up on the second ring.
“Hey, man, long time no talk.” Will’s cheerful deep voice filled the car.
“Morning. Hope I’m not interrupting anything.”
“Nah, I can take a moment away from work. What’s up?”
“Just a quick question. Do you know of any clubs not too far from me, I could take Felicity to? We’re going to do a couple’s weekend together, but I have no idea where to actually go.” He knew Will would understand exactly what kind of club he meant. Although Will hadn’t been part of the foursome Logan, Faris, Henry, and Ray had become, he’d been at Stronghold at the same time as they were. Several years younger than Logan, he’d found his own group of close-knit friends, but they’d been friendly enough, Logan still kept in touch, and Felicity sent a Christmas card every year.
Will chuckled. “Kids’ll do that to you, huh? When are you planning on going? There’s a club near me that’s opening up on New Years’ Eve. It will operate like a hotel, complete with private theme rooms attached to each hotel room. It’s pricey, though.”
“I’m willing to splurge, but New Years’ Eve is a little farther away than I’d like to wait.” Not that he and Felicity couldn’t do things at home in the meantime, but he really wanted to get away with her sooner rather than later. They both needed the quality time… and the downtime away from the kids.
“There’s a castle in Ohio that’s like a BDSM resort. They specialize in weekends of fulfilling all your fantasies.”
“Ohio’s not too far,” Logan mused, then shook his head. “I’m not sure we want to plunge in that deep right away. I don’t want her to think the weekend is all about sex. Are there any clubs near us that we can just visit as we feel like it?”
Will chuckled again. “Yeah, definitely. You really should try the Castle sometime, though. There’s where I’m taking Gina for our honeymoon.”
“Noted.”
“I’d say The Outlands in Pittsburgh is probably your best bet. There’s one in Philly, too, and Stronghold is down here, of course, but that’s a lot farther from you.”
“Pittsburgh is good. Um… is the club Outlander-themed or something?” Felicity would like that, although Logan was having trouble picturing exactly how it would go.
This time Will outright laughed. “No, and don’t mention it to the owner—he actually is Scottish but has never read the books or seen the show and is running short on patience when it comes to being teased about it. He swears up and down, he named it after something from Dungeons and Dragons.”
Since he knew nothing about D&D, Logan just shook his head, bemused.
He’d seen some of the Outlander show with Felicity. He didn’t hate watching it, especially because some episodes got her all excited. Logan had even tried out a Scottish accent once
