was trying to turn off again. “The different ways they talked about their subs and boys were interesting too. There were very practical arrangements, and then there were couples that were exploring it together for the first time.”
His hand moved up and started stroking over my head. “It made me much more confident in our relationship, honestly.”
I yawned again. “There’s no need for more confidence…” Rubbing my face against his chest, I gave another yawn and tried to keep stringing the words together. “You’re the best Daddy ever. There’s nothing to worry about.”
He chuckled and said something else, but I was too comfortable and too relaxed to follow along. The last thing I remembered was feeling more quiet laughter making his chest jerk up and down and something that felt like Leon pressing a kiss to the top of my head. But as everything faded away, I knew that couldn’t be right.

“Is that all you want?” Leon was sliding into full Daddy mode as he gestured toward the screen.
We’d been sitting down at the counter for almost twenty minutes as he asked which patterns I liked best. He seemed to want everything to be perfect, but I had a feeling he’d forgotten who he was talking to.
I was ready to be little and for a snack.
Deciding that Daddy could pick out my clothes, because that would be more fun anyway, I gave him a smile. “Daddy picks. Surprises are fun.”
He snorted. “You just want to play.”
Nodding excitedly, I pointed one more time to the train onesie and hopped off the stool. “Trains, Daddy.”
As long as I got the one I wanted, the rest would be fun to open. “Like Christmas, Daddy.”
He got that frustrated expression that was so cute, but let me run over to my trains and stretch out on the floor. I’d been big most of the morning and now it was time to have fun before Daddy made me do my chores.
I lost track of how much time had passed, but as I played, Daddy mumbled in the background and studied the computer for ages. I had my whole train built and had already been playing with my world for a long time before he finally said he was done and came to sit down beside me.
As he leaned back against the couch, I scooted closer and let my head rest on his leg. We’d stayed up late watching his TV show the night before and it’d been a long week of studying and working on different projects, so I was tired again.
Daddy seemed to realize that, though. As his hand stroked over my head, he made a low thinking sound. “I have a tired boy on my hands.”
I wanted to argue with him, but I yawned instead as I ran the train around the back of the track. “Nap, Daddy?”
I’d gotten a little more sleep earlier, but not as much as my body seemed to want.
Daddy ran his hand down my back as he reached for the train with the other. “How about you play more later? I’ll tuck you in now and you can take a little nap.”
Hmm. “Cuddle too, Daddy.”
A nap sounded good, but not if I had to do it by myself.
He quietly chuckled, but he didn’t seem surprised by my request. “Okay, let’s go cuddle.”
Daddy might not always think of it on his own, but any time I wanted cuddles, he seemed ready to give in.
As I sat up, I looked between him and the trains. “Clean up now?”
He shook his head. “You can clean them up later after you play more.”
That was perfect, so I let him help me up without pouting and followed him into my bedroom. Daddy picked up my binkie off my nightstand and helped me climb onto the bed. As he sat down next to me, he pulled my ABC blankie up from its new home at the end of my bed and stretched out with me.
Curling up beside him, I started sucking on my binkie as I put my head on his chest. As his hand stroked my head again, I remembered how nice it had been to sleep with him earlier. I wasn’t sure what he would be comfortable with despite his talk of diapers earlier, but as I drifted off, I thought of how it would be to be able to cuddle with him every night and not just for naps.
