eight, and then Harry and I can give you our opinion.”
“That sounds crazy, but you know what, girl, I think I need to do it because I don’t want to be one of those women that, you know.”
“I know, girl, you don’t even have to say it. Okay, I’ll set it up. Speak to you later.”
Chapter 14
“It should be a good thing to have too many options. Isn’t that what we’ve always wanted?” I said to Sarah as we walked toward the bar.
“Yeah, I would love to have options. You’re a lucky girl. I have nothing.”
“Well, you could have options, too, if you join this dating agency. I’m pretty sure I could give you a referral and you get a hundred dollars off and maybe they give me something, as well. That would be really cool.”
“Yeah. I’ll think about it,” she grinned at me. “So who’s the first date with this afternoon, again?”
“First one up is Lucas,” I said with a smile. “Oh my gosh, I feel like a player just saying that. How do I have two dates with two guys? And you’re sure Harry is not going to let anything slip, right?”
“I’ve told Harry to be on his best behavior. He’s going to act as if each guy was the only guy he’s met for the day.” She grinned. “And if he doesn’t, he’s going to be in big trouble.”
“Well, he better know that I will kill him, if he lets either guy know that he’s meeting two guys today. I really want your opinion on both of them because I just don’t know how I’m going to make a decision.” I groaned. “I know I keep harping on about it, but it’s just crazy to me.”
“Gemma, I’m sure you could have ten different guys going at one time, all of them handsome, all of them wanting you because you’re just amazing.”
“Sarah, you are the personal cheerleader that I’ve always needed in my life. Please do not ever change.”
“Don’t worry. As long as you don’t, I won’t.”
“So you said Harry’s going to meet us at the bar?”
“Yeah. He said he had some work stuff to finish up, but he’ll be there within thirty minutes of us.”
“Okay, great.” I took a deep breath. “How do I look?”
“You look amazing. That dress is beautiful.”
“Yeah. I spent a little bit too much money on it, but I figured when you’re dating, you have to look your best and I’m going all out. I want these guys to want me more than they’ve ever wanted any woman in the world.”
“Are you sure you want to do that to both guys?”
“Of course. Why?”
“Well, one of them is going to be so disappointed when he doesn’t get to have you.”
“Yeah. I’ve thought of that,” I laughed. “But you know what? You can’t always get what you want, right?”
“Oh Gemma, you’re so bad.”
“I’m trying to be.” I giggled as we walked up to the bar named Samson and Delilah’s and entered. “Hi!” I walked over to the hostess. “I have a table for four reserved, please. We want it to be slightly further away from the live band today as it’s two double dates.”
“Oh sure. What was your name?”
“Gemma.”
“Let me look here. Sarah, no. Jennifer, no. Gemma, ah, here you are. Yeah, we have an awesome table set up for you. Would you like to wait on your dates or shall I seat you both first?”
“I think you can seat us now,” I looked over at Sarah, “right?”
“Yeah, of course. Let’s get a drink. Let’s get this party started.” She did a little dance as we walked in and I laughed.
“Let’s get this party started all right.” We followed the hostess over to our seat at the circular table. We took two chairs next to each other and sat back.
“Okay so Harry can sit over there next to you. And then Lucas will sit next to me and then when he leaves, Connor will then sit there.”
“Sounds like a plan to me,” Sarah said with a small smile. “The only thing is...” she paused.
“What? What’s that look on your face? You’re making me nervous.”
“Well, what if Lucas doesn’t want to leave?”
“What do you mean if he doesn’t want to leave?”
“What if he says he’s going to leave, but then he comes back for some reason and he sees we’re still sitting here and then decides to have another drink.”
“Shit, I didn’t think about that. I figured we’d all say we were leaving and then he
