Hello My Angel - Sue Brown Page 0,75
he rubbed his eyes.
“Quit rubbing your eyes. You’ll make them sore,” Josh scolded. “You look fuckable if that helps.”
He stood and Mr. Truffles fell off with an indignant squawk. Josh ignored him, his attention focused on Cal who smiled and pulled him into a hug.
“You know just how to make me feel better.”
Josh buried his head into the crook of Cal’s neck and Cal’s arms were reassuringly tight. It felt like an eternity since he’d been where he should be.
“I need a shower,” Cal said.
“You do,” Josh agreed, “but holding me is more important.”
They leaned against each other for a long time, exchanging soft kisses. Josh had expected to be thrown on the bed by Cal and pounded into the mattress. He still wanted that, but this intimacy, a sharing of breath, was just as essential.
“I missed this,” Cal whispered against his ear, his hands smoothing down Josh’s back.
“Me too,” Josh whispered back.
It had been a million years since he’d had his lover pressed up against him. He groaned as Cal pressed his lips down on his. Josh opened his mouth under the onslaught, and their tongues tangled, slid over each other and played together.
“Make love to me,” Josh begged, looking up into Cal’s dark green eyes.
“I need a shower.”
“You’ll only need another one afterward and I don’t care. I just want your big dick inside me.”
Cal’s mouth quirked up at one side. “You’re such a romantic.”
“I’m plenty romantic. Now I want you to fuck me.”
Josh was prepared to sink to his knees and blow Cal if it would give him a head start.
He found himself pressed up against a wall, Cal’s body covering his, before he had a chance to utter another word.
“Charlie?”
“Shut up.”
Cal’s growl made Josh shiver, but Cal’s beautiful green eyes made him melt into a gooey puddle.
Cal leaned forward and whispered, “I’m going to fuck you, then you’re going to feed me, and then we’re going to fuck again.”
He raised Josh’s hands over his head and ground his hard cock against Josh’s. Josh smiled as he pushed back. “Do it.”
One more hard, cocky grind of their erections, then Josh was spun around to push face first into the roughened surface of the wall, then he heard a muffled curse behind him.
“Wait here,” Cal ordered.
Confused, Josh looked over his shoulder. “Where the hell are you going?”
“Slick,” Cal yelled as he ran up the stairs.
Hands flat against the wall, Josh rested his forehead as he waited. They had lube downstairs. Cal knew that. What was he up to? It didn’t take long for Josh to hear footsteps running down the stairs, then Cal panting in his ear.
“I love you, my angel.”
“I love you too, Charlie,” Josh murmured.
Then Cal grasped Josh’s chin, tilting it to kiss him hard, leaving them both gasping for air.
Josh sucked in a breath then Cal kissed him again, this time soft and sweetly. The change left Josh unsettled, off-balance. He tried to deepen the kiss, but Cal wouldn’t let him. Cal turned Josh to face him, his expression so serious Josh felt that knot in the pit of his stomach again.
“Charlie? What’s wrong?”
Cal’s expression was as off-balance as Josh felt. Josh watched Cal swallow hard.
“Charlie, talk to me. You’re worrying the hell out of me here.”
Then Cal knelt in front of him and instead of a tube of slick, held out a thick platinum band inset with diamonds in his palm.
He smiled up at Josh. “Will you marry me, my angel? Spend the rest of your life with me and be this Charlie’s angel forever?”
Josh’s mouth went dry. He swallowed and tried to speak, knowing Cal was expecting an answer.
“Yes.”
Cal squinted at him. “Yes? Is that it?”
Josh placed his right hand over his heart and held out his left hand so that Charlie could slide the ring on his third finger. It fit perfectly. “I’ll be your Jill Munroe until the end of days.”
Cal smiled. “That’s more like it.”
Then he reached behind him and produced a tiara. “This is for you too.”
Josh’s eyes widened as he studied the tiara. “This has got real fucking diamonds.”
Cal nodded. He bit his lip. “The ring and tiara are part of the family collection. Uncle Gee had it at the bank.”
“You’re giving it to me?”
“You’re going to be my husband. A Ross. You’ve earned that tiara, my Charlie. I want you to wear it and love it.” He placed it gently on Josh’s head. “Perfect.”
Josh was overwhelmed. Their relationship had started as quirky messages to a stranger on the other side of the world. Now they were partners in life and work, soon to be husbands. But the price had been so high.
He sniffled and threw himself into Cal’s arms. “I bet Chopper hated the diamonds,” he said after a moment.
“Yes, she did,” Cal agreed. “She told me once that Uncle Gee should sell them and use the money to repair the roof at Waterslea. Of course, I didn’t know they were married then. I said they were for the family.”
He winced and Josh sniffled again.
Cal stroked Josh’s hair. “I’m sorry I didn’t use the box the ring came in but—”
“The association,” Josh agreed hastily, and Cal nodded.
Josh would be happy never to see another jewelry box except the one holding the key again.
He pulled down Cal’s head and kissed him. When he pulled back, he said, “I’m proud to be your husband and wear your tiara, but let’s get one thing straight. I’m never, ever, becoming a Ross. Josh Ross? What were you thinking?”
Cal grinned. “I don’t know. It has a certain ring to it.”
“It’s stupid, that’s what it is,” Josh insisted. “Now fuck me.”
