road. “You could say that. Idiots.”
“I take it they aren’t friends of yours.”
The car came to a stop and Gracie stepped out, leaving the door open. “You bastard. How dare you. How fucking dare you! Did you think I wouldn’t find out? Did you think I wouldn’t find you?”
Hendrix drew back from the venom in her voice. “Now Gracie.”
“Don’t you now Gracie me. You fucking monster. You slept with me and then you left. You didn’t explain shit you just left. Did you think I wouldn’t find out? Did you think I wouldn’t care?”
“Fuck man, what did you do?” Keith muttered.
Gracie raised her hand and it was then the pistol became visible. Kieth gave a shout of warning as he leapt for the son of his Alpha. The bullet grazed his arm as he shoved Hendrix to the side. Turning he leapt again, shifting to wolf in midair, lunging for the throat of the woman just to be shoved aside himself by Hendrix. Snarling the black wolf got to his feet, made note of Hendrix laying on top of the disarmed female and turned his attention to the male sitting in the drivers seat to find a gun pointed at his head.
“Halo, I swear if you shoot my pack mate I will rip your throat out. I know you have a gun. Do you want to risk your partner’s life? Is this the hill you have chosen?”
“Halo? Halo I am alright. Squished a little but I am alright. Let me up you big oaf. I swear when I get my hands on my gun again I will shoot you.”
“Gracie, darling, what have I told you about telling the enemy your plans.”
“Halo? Shut up. They are fast. Too fast. Can you shoot that one and get this one before he rips out my throat?”
Keith backed up, putting the car between himself and the driver.
“Well not now.” Halo told her with exasperation.
“Not before either. Kieth would have been watching his muscles and if he had twitched wrong Keith would have gotten down and around the car before your buddy there could turn around good. And driving with the windows down. Didn’t anyone ever tell you not to go after a wolf with your windows down?”
Gracie tried to knee his but he shifted his weight.
“No one ever told me werewolves existed but here we are.”
Hendrix’s voice was as cold as ice as he informed her. “I am not, nor have I ever been a werewolf. Werewolves are fictional characters invented to frighten children.”
“Funny, that isn’t what my drone showed me.” Gracie said.
“Your drone? That was your drone? I should have figured. Halo, you meddling bastard. And don’t tell me the drone wasn’t your idea.”
“See, I didn’t have to throw you under the bus, he figured it out on his own.”
“Well, no, I was guessing but I appreciate you letting me know who I have to kill.”
“What? You slimy toad sucking bastard. Let me up. I swear I will kill you. You slept with me. You fucking bastard.”
Laughter sounded from near the front tire. “Fuck Hendrix, are you that bad in bed? I need some popcorn. Hold on, let me get my phone. I have got to video this. This may replace Trey beating the shit out of that kid for best video of the pack.”
“Keith? If you touch your phone, or send a message through the pack path I will beat you so badly your mate won’t even know who you are, got that?”
“You suck.” Keith told him. A moment later and Halo started cursing.
“I got his gun. Want me to kill him now?”
“No. Get him out of the car and cuff him up. Halo? Your training isn’t good enough to beat Keith’s training and he has decades more experience than you. I wouldn’t try to take him unless you want to die.”
“Why can’t I kill him? We can put him with the rest of the bodies.”
“What the fuck is wrong with you people? Do you go around killing people all the time? You can’t kill innocent people.” Gracie twisted underneath Hendrix, trying to break free.
“One, we are not people and two you are trespassing and three you shot first. The first will get you killed to keep our secret. The second, same thing, The third, well that is plain ole self defense. You better let me kill you now because when Gammon gets wind you tried to kill his son, adopted or not, he will make you wish you had put the
