Chapter Four
Alexia
My eyes open and I smile.
“That’s always a good sign.”
I smile bigger. “It wasn’t a dream. I’ve had too many of those.”
He laughs. “You and me both. It wasn’t a dream. You’re a sexy ol’ lady. I can’t wait for the new shit you learn if it starts like last night or this morning.” He’s very easy to please if he’s already happy.
The women gave me pages of advice and helpful videos. It’s going to be better and last night wasn’t like anything I’ve ever felt. I add it to the list my brain made for living with a man. Sex with Web is high on that list, the details are easy and he didn’t have to make it a lesson, it was natural. Maybe it’s the love that ties like he said. I add that to the list too. “We have to get to work so it will have to wait.”
He sighs. “We do. It feels like I’ve waited my whole life for you. I hope a couple of hours won’t kill me.”
“You’re funny in the morning. I like waking up with a happy you. Are you training?”
“Yeah. I can meet you for breakfast. We have a few days away in two weeks. I want to show you the house Alder built for us in Colorado.”
I heard about the house in a cave. I’ve never seen anything like that. “Okay. Are there mountains like the movies show?”
He kisses my head then lips. “It’s beautiful. Mountains, lakes, a waterfall and tunnels into the cave.”
I follow him into the closet. I’m glad we showered before we fell asleep again. I smile. He washed me. Hannah said that’s a good sign. “I’ll make a count down. I’m already excited.”
“I took you off the schedule. It’s two weeks and two days away. I can’t wait to see how you like it. The Alpha-Bits love it up there.”
“I’ve never been to the mountains.”
He stops and turns, taking my shirt from my hands he pulls it right over my head and tugs the bottom in place. “We can take a ride so you can see more than the rock mountains here. We used to ride to Colorado regularly. It’s not far. The terrain changes quickly from desert, to greenery, to forest, then mountains.”
“I’d like that. Where are you for lunch?”
“Phoenix.” With a kiss he’s walking out with his boots in his hand.
“Garren and Michael want to take me to lunch.”
He smiles. “They’re so fucking cute. Michael said sister lunch when Garren asked.” Lunch is cute?
They asked him? “Asked?”
He shrugs. “It’s a biker thing. Ol’ ladies don’t ride with anyone and Brothers get killed for being alone with the ol’ ladies.”
Killed, they get killed? I walk out so I can see his face. It wasn’t a scary sentence and should be. “Killed?”
He stands showing what a gi and boots look like. They don’t work well. “It’s a biker thing. I’d never kill my brothers for bringing you to lunch. I don’t think I’d ever kill anyone, when they tried for Alder and took Anton, I wanted to kill someone. I’m not an Enforcer. Cort said I’m a Protector. I don’t know how all that works. I’ve never shot anyone.”
He’s smiling. It’s a good thing not to do so I nod. When Télia was taken I wanted the Commander to kill the men. Marks said it would be bad for FBI to kill men in the streets of Providence. I thought trying to rape her in the car in the middle of traffic was bad in the streets of Providence. I can see where wanting to kill sneaks in while you’re angry for your friends.
He kisses my lips. “I’ll meet you in the kitchen.”
He’s gone. I tie my shoes hearing his bike and run to the training center. It’s the very center of the compound by the pool. Today my training is with the gun. I’m going to ask if I can get the laser instead of a real gun. Cort said I’m trained and should carry it with a threat showing against me. I train in the simulator but don’t think I could shoot someone in real life. I’d be scared. I bet I could with the laser.
The simulator here is different and has more men in vests than suits. Providence had suit people and fancy women clothes. When I come out, the boy from Sweden is waiting.
