Forbidden Harmony (Harmony Falls #3) - Elizabeth Kelly Page 0,72
Cora, one of the yarn shop employees, stopped next to Lucas. Honestly, she was surprised it had taken this long. Lucas was a good looking guy and Cora was single. If Addison was single, she’d hit on Lucas too.
You are single. Harrison and you are over, remember?
Right. She glanced at her bare ring finger. She wasn’t engaged anymore. She was totally free to date anyone she wanted and that included Lucas.
You know what’s real weird, Addie-baby? It wasn’t Harrison you were thinking of, was it?
She needed to shut that thought down and quick, but it refused to be quieted. It was right anyway. It hadn’t been Harrison. It was Preacher’s face who’d popped into her head. Which was ridiculous because they absolutely weren’t dating, and she was free to go out with any guy she wanted. Just like Preacher could go out with any woman he wanted.
Jealousy licked at her stomach like a hungry tiger and she swallowed hard. The thought of Preacher having sex with another woman really shouldn’t upset her so much. Hell, for all she knew, he could be banging some other chick at this very minute. They had never spoken about him not sleeping with other women while he was giving her lessons.
Yeah, well, if you’d looked in the damn tattoo shop when you were walking by earlier like I told you to do, you’d know if he was working or potentially out banging another chick at this very minute.
It’d taken every last ounce of willpower not to peer into Preacher’s shop as she walked by with Lucas. She’d been proud of herself in the moment, but now she just wished she’d done it, if even to catch a glimpse of Preacher.
Yikes. You’re moving into obsession territory. You know that, right?
Moving? Hell, she’d moved into obsession two days ago after he fucked her in the bathroom. Moved in, unpacked all her belongings, and was thinking of getting a cat.
“You’re buying a gift for your mom? That’s so sweet,” Cora said. Her hand lingered on Lucas’s arm and he grinned down at her.
“Us Willington boys know how to be sweet to our mama’s.”
Cora’s hand dropped off his arm, the smile on her face faltering. “You’re from Willington?”
Lucas glanced at Addison, his grin widening before he turned back to Cora. “I am. You’re not gonna judge me for that, are you? Because I live here now, and it’s been my impression so far that the Falls girls are all about being sweet.”
Cora laughed. “Sounds like you haven’t met the right Falls girls yet.”
“Maybe not,” Lucas said.
Cora stared up at him for a few seconds. She was starting to look a little flustered. Addison didn’t blame her. She was surprised that Lucas was even single. He was a good looking guy. He had the cheekbones of a model, the tight lean body of a swimmer, and the little flecks of green in his hazel eyes were very pretty.
You prefer dark eyes.
She did. Dark eyes and dark hair and a muscled tattoo covered body with rough talented hands that knew exactly how to touch her, and a mouth and tongue that knew where to kiss and where to lick and…
The yarn shop had suddenly heated up about a thousand degrees. Maybe the air conditioner was broken. Addison fanned herself with her hand as a now familiar ache started in her lower belly. Maybe she’d text Preacher tonight. He did say anytime she needed him for, uh, stuff, she could call.
No, what he said was anytime you needed your tight pussy filled, he’d come over and give you his cock.
Her face flushed. Harrison never talked during sex, and he’d certainly never said anything dirty to her. Ever. She’d always thought she preferred that, always thought that having a man talking about her body so crudely would be a huge turn-off.
How incredibly wrong she’d been.
“So, about that yarn,” Lucas said.
“Um, right.” Cora cleared her throat. “What type of yarn were you looking for.”
“I’m not really sure. I brought the lovely Addison along to help me since she’s an expert like yourself,” Lucas said.
Cora smiled at Addison. “Actually, she’s probably even more of an expert than me. Addison knows her stuff when it comes to yarn.”
“Then I guess I have the two best ladies in all of Harmony Falls to help me with my gift.” Lucas’s flirty grin brought a flush of colour to Cora’s cheeks.
“What type of stuff does your mom usually knit?” Addison said.
