down his body, soaking him from head to toe. When he moves out of the spray, he runs his fingers through his hair and then down his face. He looks positively delectable like that.
“Now, you, Dakota Wilder, have a date with a trainer who’s here to teach you and us how to keep you safe. As much as I want to spin you around and fuck you against this shower wall until everyone hears what I’m doing to you, I can show restraint…for now. But you better be in my room tonight or”—he smacks my ass, then grips it—“you’ll be in trouble.”
A breath escapes my chest. “I don’t know. I might like your idea of being in trouble.”
“Oh, you most definitely will,” he says, honey brown eyes twinkling. He makes sure I can stand on my own before he gets out of the shower. He dries off with a towel while I wish I was that inanimate object draping over him.
I shake myself out of it when Lucas starts pulling his clothes on, and I rinse off before getting out.
He hands me a towel. “I’ll grab you some workout gear.”
He leaves, returning with a handful of clothes that he places at the edge of Stone’s bed. He winks at me and exits once more. On the top of my clothes pile is a hair tie, and I nearly split my face in half grinning. A girl could get used to being so cared for. In every way. Every single way.
I may have been distracted by Stone’s cock and Lucas’ tongue, but my hatred of Lance remains. I quickly pull on my clothes, then stop off in my bedroom where I put my cell when we first got home. I tap on Cole’s name which I’ve found myself doing more often than not lately.
“Is this about Stone?” he inquires as soon as he picks up.
Jesus Christ. How does he do that? “Yes,” I say, trying to keep my voice calm.
“Let me guess, you want me to help you because if he marries that girl, you’re going to spend the rest of your life gazing into a mirror and hating yourself?”
“I was thinking something much worse than that. More like plotting Lance’s death and betrayal over and over again.”
“I knew I liked you,” Cole admits, and just by the lilt of his words, I can tell he’s smiling.
I’m not sure what it means about me that I’m impressing a gang leader with my deplorable thoughts.
“What do you want me to do, baby girl?”
I grind my teeth at his words, but don’t say anything. I’ve been asking for a couple of favors lately, I guess that means I can’t be too picky about what he wants to call me. “He can’t marry her,” I force out. “He just can’t.”
“Aren’t you supposed to hate him?”
“I love to hate him. Does that count?”
He chuckles and then pauses for a few seconds. “That sounds about right, actually.” He sighs, and when he talks again, his voice lowers, reminding me of how he spoke to me when we were alone in his apartment in the Heights. Just the two of us. “The thing is, if I do this for you, you’re going to have to listen to a truth I have about you. You’re going to hate it, and it’s going to hurt, but in my estimation, a truth is always better than a lie. Always,” he hisses, passion lacing his words. “Do you understand?”
“I’ll do anything,” I tell him. “Absolutely fucking anything.”
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you, baby girl.”
“So, you’ll do it?”
“For you, anything.” The phone clicks in my ear.
I relax against the bed for a moment. He’ll do it. If there’s anything I’ve learned about Cole, leader of the Dragons, it’s that his word means everything, and I trust him. He’s going to stop Stone’s wedding.
I stand, running my hands down my workout clothes. At this point, I don’t know how late I am to my session but since Cole didn’t mention it, I shouldn’t sweat it either.
I only hope that my spent legs will be good for something as I make my way down the hallway. Just because I had an amazing afternoon of sex doesn’t mean I want to look like a novice in training.
I slap my thighs. Don’t fail me now, babes.

Lucas makes good on his promise that night, and the next morning, we wake up early to another taxing training regimen put forth by Finn. I swear the guy gets sadistic
