This Fearless Girl (St. Clary's University #2) - E. M. Moore Page 0,84
all pile into one car. The tension is still high, especially when Stone informs Wyatt and Lucas where we’re going. I’m a bit relieved when he leaves out any mention of the morning-after pill that we discussed this morning. I imagine Lucas would have something to say about his friend fucking me bareback last night. And all it would do is fuel his insecurity even though he has nothing to be insecure about.
Stone parks facing a one-story modern building. “You have an appointment with Dr. Carr, she’s the best of the best. And there’s already a form of payment locked onto your account, so get whatever you need. Anything.”
All in all, the appointment takes about an hour. I learn more about my body in that hour than I ever did before. It’s embarrassing, but I’ve never been to a doctor before. Literally never. When they asked me who my primary care physician was, I told them I didn’t have one and prayed they didn’t look at me funny. When they asked if I’d ever been to an OB-GYN before, I also told them no, waiting for the humiliation to start, but it never came.
I opted for an IUD and only had a little bit of cramping after they put it in. It sounded perfect for me considering I didn’t have to remember to take a pill every day, which honestly would be pure torture.
Wyatt escorted me into the appointment, and when I walk out, he looks up from a home magazine, making me smile. “All set, Tits?”
The woman sitting a few chairs down from him gives him a dirty look, but I just smile back wider. “All set.”
He places his arm around my waist and leans in to whisper, “Do you think Stone and Lucas have killed each other yet?”
“No, but I hope they figure their shit out.”
“They will,” he says, opening the glass doors for me. The Arizona heat blasts me in the face as I walk down the concrete sidewalk. “You can’t blame any of us for getting a little jealous.”
I stop Wyatt and touch the brim of his sexy hat. “I don’t want anything to go on between the three of you,” I tell him honestly. “I love that you guys are like a family, even without me.”
He nods. “That’s what happens in families. They fight, and then they make up. I bet it’s all over with when we get back to the car. Stone’s going to say, ‘Oh, I’m sorry I fucked her so loud and kept you up all night with a hard-on you couldn’t do anything about.’ And Lucas is going to say, ‘I just wanted my dick sucked, too.’ And you’re going to say, ‘Guys, I’m going to get a jaw cramp from all the cock!’”
I snicker. I can’t help myself. “You have it all figured out, don’t you?”
Wyatt nods, tipping his hat at me like he knows what it does to me. “They might say it with fists instead, but you get the gist.”
I worry my lip. “Were you upset about last night?”
His jaw feathers as he looks at me. “I was concerned,” he admits. “I didn’t want you two to regret it in case something happens. I get the temptation.” He runs his sapphire gaze down the length of me. “You’re unlike any girl I’ve ever met, Dakota. If I wasn’t trying to be a good guy, I would’ve already seduced you into my bed, but I know my shit ain’t straight right now.” He pretends to knock on his head. “You’re not the kind of girl you want to figure shit out with as you go along. You’re the relationship you want to make sure you don’t fuck up. But,” he tacks on, sliding his arms around me, his thumbs tugging on the belt loops of my jeans, “that doesn’t mean I don’t want to try kissing you like we did before.”
He nudges my face with his nose under my own. Reaching up, he takes his hat off and finds my belt loop again while swooping down to sweep a soft kiss over my lips. My hands come up to settle on his t-shirt over his chest that does nothing to hide his muscles nor his beating heart. His kiss is featherlight and exploring. It makes my chest beat in a whole different rhythm, syncopating with the brush of his lips.
It’s like a rainstorm on a hot day. Unexpected, but definitely not unwelcome. His pace curls my toes, making me
