I glance at where the balcony overlooks the kitchen and living room. “The big one on this side of the house is mine.”
Colby hums. “Maybe I'll just share a room with you instead.”
“Oh yeah, I'm sure Kellan will love that,” I roll my eyes playfully. “Besides, I'll be waking up bright and early to dance. Brady will be stopping by in the mornings. He and Jake are staying at a hotel nearby.”
Suddenly, his face becomes dull and serious. “That's not a vacation, Lennon.”
My shoulders raise as I smile sweetly. “I have to stay in top shape for Juilliard in the fall.”
He's clearly unamused, but he drops the subject as he heads for the stairs. When he's halfway up them, he looks out the window facing the front and snickers.
“Your favorite person is here.”
Seconds later, the door opens and Cade walks in with his two friends. They look like they're in actual heaven. One of them nudges Cade in the arm.
“Dude,” he says in disbelief. “Your mom hit the fucking jackpot.”
I consider saying something about how this house has nothing to do with Nora or anyone else but me and my dad, but starting an argument on night one isn't really on my list. Cade doesn't answer him as he comes over to me and leans on the other side of the island.

I keep my expression neutral. “Thanks.”
“So,” he looks me up and down, making my eyes narrow. “Which rooms are ours?”
When his eyes linger a little too long on my chest, I reach forward and use my index finger under his chin to lift his head back up. “East wing.”
Sure, I could let them pick their own, but having him on the opposite side of the house is probably the best bet. Keep him as far away from Kellan as possible.

A low whine emits from the back of my throat, but I don't answer her. Not because she's wrong, but because she's right. So fucking right.
MY ALARM GOES OFF at six in the morning. Kellan groans next to me, mumbling something about turning off the siren. I sit up and silence the sound before tying my hair up. Brady should be here any minute, and if I'm not caffeinated by the time he is, it's not going to go well for me.
I turn on the coffee pot and grab the creamer from the fridge. As I turn around, however, I smack directly into something hard. I topple backward until a hand wraps around my lower back and pulls me in. It takes me a minute to realize it's Cade.
Stepping back, I find him standing in front of me half naked, once again, only this time he's in a pair of board shorts. My eyes rake down his body involuntarily, like I'm unable to stop myself. When they linger a little too long on his abs, he grabs my chin and brings my focus back to his face—just like I did to him last night. I swallow harshly.
