way to his house. Brinks and Falcon are waiting.
“I’m out, Brother. You good?” Falcon makes me smile.
Cort nods. “Yeah. Thanks for showing. Ford is good. He calms Web so it helps. Heam is staying to keep them all calm. I’m glad he knows Ford and Garren.”
“Fucking crazy how that all works. Raid is still there with Daniel. Lorelei went shopping. She’s happy he’s busy.”
I laugh. “Fuck, I hope she gets me the pretzels.” Cort cracks us all up. Him and the fucking pretzels.
Brinks hugs him laughing. I love to see it. Falcon is smiling too. It’s a good day.
Falcon grabs Brinks cut and pulls. “I’m your ride, Brothers.” He pulls me and I smack his hand.
“I’m not falling now. I made it all fucking day. I’ll see you Saturday, Boss.”
They laugh at me. I don’t care.

Champion
Debra
It has been a crazy day. I’m so glad we’re done and everyone left. I’m not sure who draws more people, Aiyana, Dakota, Alder or Falcon. The whole compound showed at some point tonight. Jinx and Brinks walked and talked while Hannah did the spirit party. I am thankful for the healers who did their cloaking thing and got Brinks his smile back. He’s a funny Brother when he’s not angry at the world.
“Are you still pissed at him?” He’s been lost in thought until now.
I guess like me, we’ve walked half a block without a word. “Not at all. I spent time living miserably, I kind of know how it works. With some work and help, I made it. Brinks got the help. He’s already better. Stella isn’t easy, he didn’t take offense and even laughed when she called him push pop.”
He laughs. “Yeah, he’s not angry anymore. The push pop would have set him off yesterday. If the anger comes back, you need to say it, we’ll get help again.”
I turn toward him. “I don’t think you have to worry. Aiyana said it worked and he sees it different, like a spirit party. I’m new to all this Badass and Indian stuff, but I see how everyone works together to help when they’re needed. I trust them to show up again if Brinks needs it.”
“I don’t want you to ever feel afraid of him. We’re not small Brothers.”
I laugh. “I love you for always watching out for me but I’m okay. Did you see him with Aaron and Brody? He’s a big marshmallow.”
He shakes his head. “Love the love, baby.”
Chapter Eleven
Elan
Jinx
We take the ride to Elan. I’ve only been here once, it was before Cooper moved up here. He’s done a great job with the yard and compound. We show ID and ride through with a welcome from Security. The compound is almost identical to Champion. At the Officer road gate, we’re showing ID again. The Brother calls Mase and points us the way. They’re even set up in the same locations as Champion houses. The style is different, they have more yard and a second floor. I like the different. The garage door goes up as we turn in. Mase has some cool bikes there.
Brinks is excited and goes right to the bikes. I back the trike in and wait for Champ. Walking in I laugh, Brinks loves new technology and Mase has a bike that’s futuristic as all hell.
“Fucking sweet, Jinx. Look at the tire.” Brinks is impressed. It’s impressive to see.
“In the back, hurry up!” Mase is or was here.
I start walking with Champ sticking close. Crews are waiting all over the place and Security is standing guard. Champ must know the grass may have holes or rocks that throw me, he’s right against my leg.
This is nice, they have trees everywhere. The Alpha-Bit house is cute with a second floor to match the other houses. Coming into the yard, I laugh. Alder is here and pissed. Mucimi stands on the side of him smiling. I bet he was abducted.
Mucimi shrugs. “Ten minutes, I’ll bring him back.”
Alder glares at the Brother. “Talk ten minute in Bravo. Next talk, you move me, I shoot. You show respect. Ask, honor!”
Mucimi puts his hands up. “I meant no disrespect, Little Pres. I’ll ask and show respect.”
Alder nods. I almost fall over laughing but Champ steadies me and Brinks catches my arm. Alder turns our way just noticing us. “VP Jinx, no close to grenade. Here. Stay safe.” He points to the ground next to him.
I nod. “I was just watching.”
He nods. “Here, eyes get no pressure. Pressure change program. No good. Here, with
