and fuck-me shoes. There’s no other way to put it, they’re strappy little stilettos that every guy in here probably fantasizes having wrapped around his waist. From this angle I can see that the back of the dress dips so low I can see the dimples above her ass. And what a phenomenal ass it is.
“There better not be alcohol in that glass,” Reno growls and heads for their table.
The crowd parts like the Red Sea when they turn and spot us. The only ones who don’t see us coming are Ashlynn and Kara. They’re too busy giggling over something.
We’re almost to their table when Kara’s eyes get big as she spots Reno. In response to Kara’s reaction, Ashlynn twists to look over her shoulder and spots me. She smiles and drawls out is a sexy tone, “Hey, stranger.”
I lay a palm on the warm skin at the small of her back and dip down to her ear to murmur, “Hey, Hot Rod.”
Reno pulls Kara’s glass from her hand and takes a sip. Then sets it down. “You’re lucky.”
She giggles and runs a fingertip slowly down his vest. “I am.”
He cups her neck and hauls her to him, kissing her mouth, then pulls back to murmur against it, “Can’t leave you for a minute, can I?”
“Nope.”
I take Ashlynn’s glass and lift it to my nose. “Whiskey?”
“Jameson on the rocks. It’s my drink.”
“It’s not for the faint of heart. You don’t half-ass anything, do you, babe?”
“Nope.”
I set it back down. “A brown-eyed girl who likes whiskey. I’m done for.”
She giggles and lifts a brow. “You are.”
“You know what they say about women who drink whiskey, don’t you?” Reno asks.
“What’s that?” I say, not taking my eyes from hers.
“They’re the best kind of complicated.”
“I couldn’t agree more.”
Reno pins Kara with a hard look. “Since you’re in such a partying mood, there’s one at the clubhouse. You want to go?”
“You want me to go to a clubhouse party?” she asks, her voice sounding stunned.
“No, but at least there I know every guy in the place is not trying to hit on you.”
“Well, what fun is that?” she teases.
He takes her face in his hands. “You want fun, I’ll give you all you can handle tonight.” He glances down at her legs. “Are you wearing stockings?”
She nods, grinning.
“Fucking hell, woman.” He runs his hand up her thigh until he feels the garter-belt and snaps it. “You know what those do to me, don’t you?”
She nods again.
He turns to me. “Let’s go. I’m suddenly in a hurry to get out of here.”
I drop my eyes to Ashlynn’s legs. “You too?”
She shrugs. “That’s for me to know and you to find out.”
I go to reach for her leg, but she pushes my hand aside. “If you play your cards right.”
“I always play my cards right. I got a feelin’ tonight’s my lucky night,” he says.
Her smile falters.
I frown at her reaction. “What?”
She shakes her head. “What you just said, that’s what we used to say at the casino if we needed one of the other hostesses to rescue us, usually from a client who couldn’t keep his hands to himself. We’d say that phrase—tonight’s my lucky night—and they knew we needed help.” She smiles. “Sorry, it just took me back there for a second.”
“That happen often?” I ask while Reno motions the waitress over and pays the bill.
“About once a week.” She smiles and shrugs. “All part of the job.”
“Let’s go,” Reno says.
We escort the girls out to Ashlynn’s car, and they follow us to the clubhouse.
I’m not too thrilled with having every brother in the place see my little Hot Rod in this sexy dress, but on the other hand, I love the idea of rubbing their noses in how fucking hot this woman is and knowing she’s with me.
We walk in, and the place is packed with brothers, hang-arounds, and even some of the strippers from the Cadillac Club. Loud music blasts through the big warehouse. Jammer, Bandit, and Quick have their arms around each other and are swaying back and forth singing along with Creedence Clearwater Revival’s Run Through the Jungle. Gypsy is over at the bar with Vee hanging on his neck; I’m not sure which one looks more bored.
“Prez!” Bandit calls out and breaks from the three to stagger toward us. “You need a beer.” He hollers over his shoulder at the prospect behind the bar. “Get Prez a beer.”
I grin at the silly, happy look on his face. “You havin’
