“That’s not your concern,” Roary snarled and I narrowed my gaze at him.
Sin frowned like he was trying to comprehend something as he looked at Roary. “So, you’re saying…I’m responsible?”
“Yes fucktart, that’s obviously what he’s saying,” I snapped. “But why would you even have discussed something like that?” There was definitely something I was missing here.
Sin threw his head back, laughing manically and flames danced around him in a breeze created by his air Element. Crazy asshole.
“Well that’s some news,” Sin said, abruptly stopping laughing and baring his teeth at Roary instead. “So how do I get her out?”
“I dunno, ask Cain nicely, he’s the one who put her in there,” Roary said sarcastically then strode away beyond the wall without a backwards glance.
Sin turned his gaze to the outer fence where Cain was still guarding the entranceway, a thoughtful yet deadly expression slipping over his features.
“Why did you release it, Sin?” I demanded, but he just ignored me, walking away like I wasn’t there and my spine prickled with irritation.
I dropped the silencing bubble and strode back to my bench, a growl in my throat. As much as I wanted to carve Sin’s face off and serve it up in a pie, I still had mine and Rosalie’s secret to protect. So when it came to him, I was currently collared and fucking leashed. But I had a bunch of my pack members and anonymous Veiled Wallers running circles around him, digging into his shit to find anything I could use against him. And sooner or later, something would surface and I’d put him back in his damn place.
I met with my pack and plucked Harper up from her seat, taking her hand and drawing her away from the others. I cast a silencing bubble around us and an illusion that blurred the movements of my mouth just to be safe before having her strike a star promise with me not to tell my secret. When it was done and the magic bound us to seven years of bad luck if we broke it, I sought out the guy I needed for the next stage of my plan.
I spotted the little dude, Alvin, just as he yelped and was knocked on his ass a hundred yards away. A Pegasus built like a brick shithouse was responsible, leering over him with his huge muscles on display in his white tank, the arms of his jumpsuit tied around his waist. His biceps were painted with colourful ink just like most of him and his gang were. The leader stood a step behind him, her hair cropped short and painted like a rainbow complete with glitter. She was nicknamed Sparkle and the huge guy to her right was Glitterpuff, I shit you not.
Sparkle had had it in for me ever since word had circled that I’d been found with the cuff key. One of her herd had been killed by the Belorian and I was apparently being held responsible. But if a bunch of ponies thought they could challenge the strongest Wolf pack in Darkmore, they were going to be laughed right back to their little green pastures.
I strode over and Harper kept at my heels as I leaned down, hoisting Alvin up by the scruff of his neck. He was so light, his feet left the ground for a moment before I placed him back on them and he nodded to me in thanks before slyly shifting behind me and my Beta.
“Hands off, Sparkle. The rat’s mine.” It wasn’t an insult; Alvin was a Tiberian Rat shifter. From what he’d told me, the reason he was in here was because he’d been caught snooping on some very powerful people and had been leaking stories about them to the press for months. Though I got the feeling that wasn’t the full story. You didn’t end up in Darkmore for shit like that. But everyone in here had their secrets and his story was his to keep. It was one of the few things we had control over in here.
“Then why was he wandering over here into our territory?” Sparkle growled and the rest of her herd came up behind her, whinnying their approval.
I took in the range of colourful tattoos on their arms and necks and the symbol they all sported which represented their gang. The Twisted Horns. The colourful Pegasus branded on them appeared to be leaping toward me through a cloud. Its coat
