and his cock jerked as I lightly stroked around his nipple. “Widen your legs, slave. How am I supposed to know if he’s pleasing you if you’re constantly hiding your body from your master?”
Dakota groaned, but Wade made another low, almost embarrassed sound as he spread his legs. He wanted it, but knowing he was displayed and being watched made it even more erotic for him. They were so close to coming I could smell their desire building as the room became filled with their scent.
I could feel my knot aching to swell, but it would have to wait.
As Wade started to squirm again under Dakota’s lips, I decided to give his poor nips a rest. “Let me see my slaves kiss again. On your knees.”
Their obedience was immediate and passionate, but they were too far apart. I smacked Dakota’s ass which had him moaning into Wade’s mouth. “Closer. You’re my pleasure slaves, not high-born lovers meeting in secret.”
Their bodies moved together and they started writhing against each other. The silken pants and sexy underclothes gave just enough friction that they started to shake as they ground against each other. They were so close I knew they wouldn’t last much longer.
Stroking their backs just lightly enough to make sure they knew I was along with them for the ride, I felt the first tremors start to rush through them. As they came, first Wade and then Dakota, I kept my touch gentle until they both started to sway unsteadily.
When they finally broke apart, wobbly and shaking, I moved down to the floor and wrapped my arms around them. As they curled into me, seemingly relaxed and exhausted, I slowly began to feel something damp on my chest.
Wade.
Silent tears were pouring out of him and as Dakota finally noticed, reaching out to hug him, the tears became a flood of emotion that crashed over the grief-stricken omega. I’d never been in that position, so all I could do was hold him tight. Eventually his tears and cries faded into a slow trickle as he hiccupped and gasped for air.
Dakota wrapped himself around Wade. “I’m sorry. I pushed you too far. I’m sorry—”
Before I could step in, Wade shook his head and interrupted. “No.”
Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and fought to speak. “It’s not that…I just…he’s gone. He’s really gone.”
I felt completely incompetent in that moment, but luckily Dakota knew what to say. “He’ll never be gone.”
He touched Wade’s chest. “He’s always going to be right here with you. But he wouldn’t want you to hide forever. He loved life and he loved you. Show him how much you love him by living again.”
Wade sucked in a breath, helpless in his pain. “But it’s so hard.”
“Just the first step. And you don’t have to do it alone.” Dakota smiled. “We don’t let you do anything alone. Why would we let you fall in love again without us right there with you?”
Wade’s tears slowed as he let out a laugh. “I don’t know what I was thinking.”
Dakota hugged him tight again. “Matthew loved you more than anything, but just because you found your fated mate once doesn’t mean you won’t get another. Matthew would move the earth itself to make sure you were loved again.”
Wade chuckled, looking lighter. “He was kind of bossy when he set his mind on something.”
“He was wonderfully bossy and I’m sure he’s out there somewhere pulling strings and badgering people to get what he wants. You don’t want to be the one to fuck up his plans, do you?” Dakota’s logic was perfectly Dakota, but Wade seemed to appreciate that.
“No, I don’t want him mad at me.” Wade smiled as I wiped tears off his wet cheeks.
“Thank you.” Then he turned his head and kissed my cheek. “For everything.”
Hugging him tight again, I gently kissed his lips. “You’re not alone. You’ve got a huge family around you, and with the club opening you’re going to have so many opportunities to meet people. You don’t have to do anything you’re not ready for, but don’t hide from love.”
It was Dakota’s turn to hug us and sprinkle kisses over our faces. “We love you and don’t ever forget that.”
Then my loveable, distractible omega smiled at me. “And I love you. There’s no other alpha out there who could’ve understood my life so perfectly and who could support me in so many ways. I love you. I love the way you laugh and find me funny and all the little ways you show how much you love me. You make me a better man.”
“And a healthier one.” Wade’s comment had both of us in stitches. “What? You know I’m right.”
Still smiling, I nodded. “Oh yes, you’re very right. Even when he sneaks pizza instead of eating his vegetables and forgets to take out the trash to hide the evidence.”
“Shit.” Dakota’s whispered expletive had me fighting the urge to laugh.
Kissing his frowning lips, I smiled. “And I love you. I love how wrapped up you get in your work and all the little ways you let me hover and take care of you. I love your wonderful imagination and all the incredible people you’ve brought into my life.”
Kissing both their foreheads, the emotions in the room were still so thick I had to take a deep breath. “It always felt like I was moving toward something and everything fell right into place the moment I saw you walk into that kitchen.”
Wade giggled. “Kiss him. Show him how much you love him. I knew you were perfect for each other the minute you sat down beside me and promised not to hit on me.”
Since Wade was always right with these things, I relaxed my grip on him and let him shift away to watch us.
Gathering Dakota in my arms, I leaned back against the chair and held him tight. “Nothing in my life will ever be the same, and that’s the most incredible gift you could give me…an exciting, surprising future with the most incredible omega ever.”
Pressing my lips gently against his, I poured everything I was feeling into that light, tender caress. But no matter how deep I kissed him or how tight I held him, I knew it would never be enough. I was going to spend a lifetime, and hopefully beyond, trying to find the right way to show him how much I loved him.
I hadn’t just found a friend or a job or even a lover when I’d walked into that party, I’d found the other half of my soul…and I was never going to forget how special that was. Nothing was guaranteed in life, Wade showed me that, but I was going to spend every moment for the rest of my life loving the man who was made just for me.
My fated mate.
