it quickly. Lewis didn’t say a word. He didn’t stop Arlan. In fact, he began to thrust faster, as if helping him to reach his climax.
Arching his back, Arlan cried out, feeling his seed spurt between them as his body pulsed with his release. Lewis turned, hovering right over Arlan as he snapped his hips so quickly that Arlan was inched up the bed slowly.
With one more hard thrust, Lewis sank his cock deep, keeping it buried as he growled and groaned through his climax. They were both panting, both sweaty.
Arlan hissed as Lewis pulled his cock free, hating the feeling of being empty. Even so, he was tired and glad when Lewis curled around him, resting his chin on Arlan’s shoulder.
Arlan had never felt so content in his life, and he never wanted that feeling to go away.
Chapter Nine
The room was bathed in darkness when Lewis opened his eyes. He wasn’t sure what had woken him until he heard what sounded like clanging.
Careful not to wake Arlan, Lewis eased from around his mate and got up. He pulled his underwear on and then went to the door, cracking it open.
If vampires were out there, Lewis was going to eviscerate them. He was sick and tired of them hunting him down.
But it wasn’t vampires outside.
It was Charles, and he looked wasted. He was leaning against the front of his truck, looking as though he would fall over at any second. His eyes were bloodshot, and he kept blinking as if he had something in his eyes.
The cold breeze made Lewis retreat long enough to throw some clothes and shoes on before he walked outside, easing the door closed behind him.
Charles’s head snapped up, and he squinted in Lewis’s direction. “Oh, Arlan’s squeeze.”
Lewis didn’t like being called that, but since he was aware of Charles’s situation, he let it go. “You were drunk when you drove here?”
“No.” Charles scrubbed a hand over his face. “I’ve been out here for a while.” He stood there quietly then looked toward the stars. “Never saw it coming.”
“Maybe you’d like to talk to Arlan.” Lewis didn’t know this guy or his history. He wasn’t a therapist, either. He didn’t know many guys who talked about their feelings, but fuck, Charles looked like his entire world was crumbling, like he’d been kicked square in the balls.
Lewis couldn’t let him self-destruct. Arlan would never forgive him.
“So, how did you find out?” Lewis should have grabbed his thick jacket. All he had on was his T-shirt, and he was starting to shiver. He hoped Charles didn’t want to talk much longer, or he’d have to excuse himself to put something warmer on.
“Fuck.” Charles groaned. “Not gonna talk about it. I’m already making a bad impression in front of the guy dating my brother. Don’t wanna scare you off.”
There was no chance of that happening. Mates were for life. Besides, Charles was talking about a bad relationship, which happened all the time. His wife was the bad guy in all of this, so Charles had nothing to be ashamed of.
“I’m just gonna sleep it off in my truck.” Charles reached for his door handle, and Lewis knew it was a bad idea. He had vampires after him and didn’t want Charles to become a snack.
“How about I rent you a room? It’s too damn cold out here, and you’ll be cramped in your truck.” Lewis just wanted Charles to get out of the cold and sleep it off.
He also wanted to get back to snuggling around Arlan. He’d fit so perfectly against Lewis, like he’d been molded for Lewis’s body. The way his hair smelled like cucumbers, how soft his skin was, had Lewis getting hard.
Which wasn’t what he wanted while standing with Arlan’s brother.
“That would be nice.” Charles leaned over the hood and rocked a bit. “Not feeling so good right now.”
“Hang on while I get your room key.” Lewis strode into the office to find Keller seated behind the desk, looking over something in his phone. Lewis paid, got the keycard, and returned, only to find Charles wasn’t where he’d left him.
“Charles?” Lewis looked around. The guy’s truck was still parked in the same spot, so where in the fuck was Charles? Lewis hadn’t been gone for more than a few minutes.
The soft sound of snoring floated toward him. With a frown, Lewis checked the interior of the truck to find Charles passed out. With a grunt, he hauled Charles out and carried him to his room.
