supernatural world, but this is my mate.
I know Figor is a good person. He’s honest, open, loving, a great alpha pack leader, president, and a rancher all in one. And if they are going to make me choose, I’ll always do the right thing; follow my heart.
CHAPTER SEVEN
– FIGOR –
I know exactly who are standing in front of me. And I’m also very much aware I won’t be able to handle them on my own. I mean, one werewolf against two hellhounds, a vampire, a demon, and a dragon, along with a few women who are a mixture of supernaturals. Yeah, I’m a dead man for sure.
But I don’t fucking care. This is my mate and I will die for her life and honor. My attention is drawn away from the confrontation and threat in front of me when I hear the cry of pain coming from behind me.
“Dammit, love,” I grumble. “You should never shift when you’re driven by anger.”
I throw an angry glare over my shoulder at her father. “Look what you’re fucking doing. You never, fucking ever, make anyone choose between loved ones.”
I direct my gaze back to Opal but she already shifted into a glorious white guardian shape. It truly amazes me how beautiful she is. And even if she’s shifted in anger, she shifted quicker than the first time. With every shift it gets easier but the reason you should never shift in anger is because you magnify that anger when you’re in wolf form.
Needless to say, for a werewolf it’s dangerous. We’re already hotheads and are easily triggered into fights and worse, violence is easier and vicious when you go back to your roots. I have no clue if this is the same for a guardian, but I’m not itching to find out.
Opal jumps around me, baring her teeth at her family.
“Stop, darlin,” I coo, but it’s no use, she doesn’t even see me, only her father who rejected her choice to love freely.
A growl rips from me and in one smooth move I do a backward flip and shift mid-air, landing on all four paws right in front of Opal. A low rumble flows from me but her eyes are still pinned on her family.
Multiple gasps and curses flow through the air. I don’t care what’s going on behind me, right now all that matters is calming my woman before she does something she will regret. We’re mated and since she’s now a part of my pack I could give her a direct order she wouldn’t be able to deny, but in this situation–adding more anger and domination–it could easily escalate.
Instead, I lower my head and snuggle close, licking the side of her mouth in surrender to make sure she knows I respect her opinion and fully agree with her; because I’m fucking pissed too. This was our moment, our night. We just ran together in wolf form for the very first time. Had magnificent sex, and during perfection we mated for life.
She leans into my touch and thankfully nuzzles me back. I take a few steps away from her to create the distance I need to shift back and drop to my knees in front of her, cupping the head of the most intriguing white wolf I have ever seen.
“Shift back, love. There is no reason to fight your family. You know your father lashes out because of the magnitude of his love for you. You’re his little girl. Both my rap sheet and past events from my breed gives him doubts about us, but we’ll prove him wrong.”
She takes her head out of my hands and takes a few steps back. Her head goes up and again her agonizing howl shifts into a scream as she embraces the shift back to her human form.
Before she hits the ground, I have her in my arms. I don’t bother looking back at the ones standing behind me. “I’m taking her home, she’s exhausted. Needless to point out I didn’t hurt her. She isn’t in pain, and is well looked after. Either fuck off and leave us alone or join us in peace for a drink while we can go over this in a normal discussion instead of being judgmental.”
I don’t even care if they stare at my naked ass walking away, all I care about is the woman who is clinging against me. Minutes pass before I’m able to step inside my cabin, heading straight to the bedroom and set her down near
