Counting On Cole (Wilde Ways #8) - Cynthia Eden Page 0,87

core over him. Slick and ready. Her eyes gleamed. Her cheeks flushed a soft red.

So beautiful.

“You have a lot of catching up to do,” she told him. Her voice was sexy as fuck. “Better get started.”

She sank down on him. Took him in balls deep.

Her head tipped back. Her hands splayed over his chest. “I’m…two ahead of you…” Evie gasped out.

“You’re about to be three,” he promised.

Her eyes widened. “Cole—”

His hands were around her hips again. He lifted her up, then dragged her back down onto him. Again and again. And he got that third orgasm from her. Pleasure washed over her face and made her gorgeous gaze flash, and only then did he let go.

Only then did his thrusts get harder. Wilder.

He erupted into her with an orgasm so strong Cole was surprised they didn’t break the damn bed with all the body heaving and twisting and shuddering. As it was, he let go of her so that he could grip the sheets. He was afraid he’d bruise her as the climax surged through him on wave after fucking shuddering wave.

The best sex of his life…always, with her.

He pulled in a breath. Then about ten more. His heart thundered in his ears. Cole forced his hands to let go of the sheets, and he slowly withdrew from her.

She smiled at him. Yawned. Looked freaking adorable.

He hurried to the bathroom. Ditched the condom and returned with a warm cloth. He liked sliding it between her legs. Liked stroking her with his fingers and the cloth because she gave the sweetest little moan with his every touch.

Don’t pounce again. The problem was that he always wanted to pounce when it came to Evie.

But he could be a fucking gentleman. And he could pounce tomorrow. And the day after that. And all the days to come. Because now they had time.

He got rid of the cloth. Slid into the bed with her. She rolled toward him, tucked her body against his, and fit him. God, yes. She fit.

Her hand smoothed over his heart. “I like your tattoo.”

He’d turned off the lights before he climbed into bed—well, all the lights except her lamp—and now he smiled at the ceiling. “Just the one? You have a favorite?”

“I love them all.” Her voice was definitely sleepy. “But I have a favorite.”

“So do I.” He pressed a kiss to her head.

He thought she’d drifted off to sleep, but then she said, “Cole?”

“Yes, baby?”

“Thank you for saving my brother.”

And, God, he remembered another time. Another place. LA. Because that time—that conversation was burned into his memory. He had to swallow twice before he could speak, and his Adam’s apple clicked before he said, “Did you just give me thank you sex?” Because those had been the words—his words— to Evie so long ago. Right after they’d had sex for the first time, and she’d thanked him for saving her.

Cole held his breath, and he waited, hoping she would give him the words that he needed. The words that had gotten him through hell and back to her. When he’d once asked if she’d given him thank you sex, Evie had said—

Her soft breath sighed over him. “Don’t be an idiot.”

His heart thudded hard in his chest. She remembers. She—

“I had sex with you because I’m in love with you.”

The words he needed to hear. The woman he wanted.

He was finally fucking home.

Chapter Twenty

So how do I ask her to marry me? Needs to be something flashy. Unforgettable. Romantic as hell.

“Thank you for saving me.” Harrison stood beside his desk. There was no sign of his usual arrogance. He was pale and bruised, and he had what looked like white tape on either side of his nose. “Without you, I’d have been screwed.”

Evie smiled at him. She was so glad he was safe. “It wasn’t just me, you know. It was completely a team effort.” She lifted her hand—the hand that was threaded with Cole’s. “Actually, I’m pretty sure Cole did the heavy lifting.”

“Bullshit,” he immediately told her. “You are the one who got the five million, who drove like a freaking boss to the drop site, never letting on that I was in the trunk—”

“Uh, you were where?” Harrison squinted at him.

“And, Evie, you marched up those stairs to confront Stephen. Did that shit like a total badass.” He brought Evie’s hand to his lips. Kissed her bruised knuckles. “You used your killer right on Robert.”

A warm glow spread through her.

“You don’t mess with Evie Lake.” Cole’s
