Brick's Fight (Infernal Sons MC #5) - Carol Dawn Page 0,32
that it would be better if she went with Steve. When she left the house, I figured she would go straight to the barn to find him.”
“I never saw her,” Steve says from beside Trigger. “I was in the barn, but she never came in. And there’s no way I would have missed her. I was right in the middle of the barn, replacing one of the stalls. I would have seen anyone walk by the door.”
“Has anyone checked the trail?” I ask, trying to remain calm.
“I did a quick run through it,” Trigger says. “But when I reached the end and couldn’t find her, I just ran back here to grab my phone and call you. I would suggest we do a more thorough search.”
We spend the next five minutes making plans. Ink is going to check with the neighbors while Trigger and Bear check the rest of the farm.
She could have even gotten lost in the corn. I sure did a few times when I was younger. If you go deep enough when the corn is at its peak, it’s very easy to get turned around.
I turn to Wolf.
“Bear tells me that you have a good eye when it comes to detail,” I say.
“Sure do, brother,” he admits. “If there is something to find on this trail, I’ll find it.”
Good.
Without another word, I lead the way behind the barn.
I have a bad feeling. I know deep in my gut that my beautiful Jessa is no longer here.
We have been searching for the fuckers who took her for months now. If they have her again and take her back to wherever the hell they’ve been hiding, there’s no telling how long it will take for me to find her.
But I will. I will find her. Then I’ll kill every single fucker who thought it was a good idea to take her from me.
Chapter Nineteen
Jessa
I’m floating. That’s the only way to explain the way I’m feeling. I feel… well, I feel nothing. I’m content to stay in this floating dream for years.

The first thing I feel is the constant throbbing in my head. I have a migraine to end all migraines. Then I feel the hardness beneath me.
Am I on the floor? How long have I been here?
My eyes feel heavy, but I give it my all and open them.
Darkness!
I panic.
“I don’t think so, little bunny. You’re not getting away from me this time. Go back to sleep and have some sweet nightmares.”
Before I have a chance to fight, a needle is shoved into my arm, and I fall back into the world of peace and numbness.
Chapter Twenty
Brick
I’m losing my fucking mind. It’s been a week since somebody took Jessa. Seven days of pure exhausting hell.
Wolf found Beast up in the woods, just off the horse’s trail, unconscious. He was drugged, which explains why he wasn’t with Jessa when she hiked the trail.
My parent's vet came out to check on him and said he would be fine. He woke up a few hours later and has been moping around ever since.
“What I can’t understand is how they got away so fast,” Ink says, digging through the fridge.
I’m sitting in my parent’s kitchen with Ink, Bear, Hawk, Slim, Wolf, and Trigger. Bella was induced a few days ago, and Chains is at the hospital with her and their new son, James.
I haven’t had the chance to meet the little man yet, but I will as soon as I find my woman.
And kill the fuckers who took her.
“Wolf, can you tell us again everything you found on the trail?” Bear asks.
“Of course,” he replies. “Right as soon as you enter the trail, there are signs of a struggle. Whoever took Miss Jessa grabbed her when she was almost clear of the trees.”
“What makes you think she wasn’t grabbed the second she stepped onto the trail?” Slim asks from behind his computer.
“He found her sunglasses at the top of the hill,” I answer.
Jessa’s sensitivity to light is almost nonexistent, but she never goes outside without the sunglasses I bought her.
“Please, continue, Wolf,” Bear says.
“As I was making my way up the trail, I saw two sets of footprints coming down the hill. One was small, which I’m assuming is Miss Jessa’s, and the other large. Most likely, a male. Both prints were spread far apart, indicating that they were running.
A few feet from the struggle area,” Wolf continues,” There is but one set of footprints that lead off the trail and into the
