the pack to merge. Instead, he remains subdued and quiet, but not in a bad way. More… thoughtful.
I let him mull over his thoughts in silence as we head back across town toward Archer’s house. I don’t want to push him into speaking before he’s ready, especially not if he’s building plans in his head or going over everything that was discussed with an eye on the rearview.
We walk into the cool, dim interior of Archer’s house, and Trystan closes the door behind us. I turn, impatient to know what’s going through his mind, but before I can even utter a sound, I’m in his arms.
It’s like the kiss outside of Cooper’s pilfered shed never ended. Trystan’s hands splay across my back, sliding beneath my shirt to palm my bare skin, and I lean into him, wishing I could be closer. His hands slip around to cup my breasts, palming the soft flesh and teasing my nipples, and I groan. Even the inch of material from our shirts is too much distance between us. I can feel multitudes of emotions in his kiss—heat, desire, possessiveness. But above all, I can feel his gratitude. I can sense how much he appreciates what I did, the nudge I gave him, even if it meant having to confront his shitty father.
I’m lost to the heat, to the way his body feels against mine, when a deep voice cuts through the bubble around us.
“Fucking hell. You’re gonna kill me, moonlight. Warn a guy before you put on a show like that.”
Dare.
I break away from Trystan’s lips and look over to find my other mate gazing at us from the other side of the room with heat in his gold-flecked brown eyes. He’s grinning, one corner of his mouth tilted upward. It’s a breath of fresh air to see him in such a good mood. The longer he’s with us, the more I feel like we’re beginning to see past the walls he’s had up for so long.
“Don’t stop on my account,” Dare adds, his voice dropping even lower as Archer appears in the living room doorway behind him.
Archer didn’t even see me and Trystan rounding second base, but he must sense the lingering sparks in the air. Or maybe he’s just noticing the way Trystan, Dare, and I are basically eye-fucking each other.
I didn’t even realize anyone else was home when we walked in and started making out. It’s been one thing after another the past few days, and I knew Ridge and Archer both had business with their packs this afternoon. Ridge, clearly, is still out, but Dare and Archer look at me and Trystan with heat in their eyes.
“What’s going on in here?” Archer asks, drawing his bottom lip between his teeth in a way that makes my core clench.
His question hangs in the space between us, and my pulse picks up a little. I think he already knows the answer to his question. And what was going on a moment ago is tame compared to what I’m thinking about now, with all three men looking at me like they want to eat me up.
Suddenly, the tension breaks. Trystan pulls me closer and picks me up, tossing me over his shoulder like I weigh nothing at all. He slaps my ass lightly and then makes a beeline for the bedroom, his feet eating up the distance with long, easy strides.
A surprised laugh bubbles out of me as he turns to look over his shoulder, throwing a glance back at my other mates.
“Come on, you two. If you want in, you better fucking hurry.”

I’m still laughing as Trystan carries me into the bedroom and deposits me lightly on the bed.
I flop back onto the mattress, gazing up at him with a grin as he stands at the foot of the bed watching me. “Isn’t this how the cavemen used to do it?”
He arches an eyebrow, his blue-green eyes dancing with heat and mirth. Then he makes a fist and thumps it against his chest. “Me claim woman.”
I giggle again, but my laughter slowly dies out as Archer and Dare step into the bedroom behind Trystan. Just like in the living room, the temperature in the space seems to rise almost immediately, filling the air with delicious tension and anticipation.
Trystan remains right where he is as the other two men come forward to join him, all three of them focused entirely on me. I have a vivid memory of the first time I did
