legs splay wider. “I love this,” she panted. “When y-you…” Her words caught on a gasp as he feasted upon her. “Mmmm…”
As he worshiped her with his mouth, she pushed herself against him with those desperate little undulations, demanding a greater intensity. But he withheld that which she craved, prolonging the moment, stretching out her pleasure.
Tynan teased her, nibbling at her folds, and then he slid a long digit inside.
A low moan tore from her throat.
“I want you,” she moaned.
Panting, Tynan straightened, and Faye cried out softly. He immediately swallowed the remainder of that wail with his kiss. Lifting her up, he set her on the nearby side table. Never breaking contact with her mouth, he caught a well-muscled calf in his hand and drew that leg about his waist.
Reaching between them, he released his front fall, and his shaft sprang free.
Faye closed a fist about him, and he groaned.
“Shh,” she teased, stroking him up and down, teasing him with her retort-in-kind and her bold touch.
He gritted his teeth. He needed to be inside her. Now. And then, as though she followed those unuttered needs, she guided him to that place he needed to be. Tynan thrust deeply into the warmest, wettest channel he’d ever felt, and a hiss exploded from him at the perfection of her tight walls gripping him. Tynan buried his head in her shoulder and clung to her tiny form as he filled her, again and again.
She lifted her hips into each thrust, her body moving in perfect time to his.
The crystals dangling from the sconces shook, the glass tinkling damningly, but also erotically, and the latter only escalated the fiery need within him.
Grunting, Tynan slammed himself into Faye, and then she stiffened.
He took her mouth with his, swallowing her scream as she came. Her channel convulsed around him, sucking him deep into an eddy of desire. He made to pull out, but Faye wrapped her legs tight around him, anchoring him inside.
“You don’t know what you’re doing,” he rasped against her mouth.
“I do,” she panted, rocking against him. “And I want all of you.”
She wanted all of him.
There would be time enough for the terror of that later. Then she flexed her clever muscles inside, squeezing him, and he surrendered as the devil he was.
With a guttural shout, Tynan came, spilling himself inside her in a climax so intense it bordered on pain. Clenching his eyes and his teeth, he tightened his grip upon her hips, using her body to leverage himself deeper and riding onward to the most glorious completion he’d ever felt. Or known. Or even known was possible.
A gasp wrenched from him. Tynan sagged, framing her body with his as he struggled to breathe, and his chest heaved. While his heart and mind sought to work through their usual function, Faye ran her fingers in soothing little circles on his back, a gentle caress that, for its tenderness, lent an even greater intimacy to what they’d shared.
There would be room for reality soon, and the fact that he’d allowed himself to come inside her without thinking enough until now about the risk of impregnating her.
What had he done? He—
“I love you,” Faye said softly, her cheek pressed against his chest.
His entire body jerked. Perhaps he’d not heard those three words. Perhaps—
“I love you,” she repeated.
Tynan’s gut churned. Aye, there they were.
“You don’t love me,” she said with her usual matter-of-factness. “And I’m not expecting you should. But I want you to know… I love you.”
“Faye, I have nothing to offer you.” Nay, that wasn’t altogether true. “I have less than nothing.” “Lord Lothian won’t help, nor do I expect that he should. I have no future.” His words all rolled together, his syllables tripping and stumbling over one another. “And even if he did intervene, if he gave me another chance and allowed me a post at Newgate, or some other prison, there are still powerful enemies.”
She smiled. “I’ve powerful enemies of my own. As such, perhaps that makes us a perfect match.”
She still didn’t understand. She never could. It was impossible. Even her jest proved the depth of her naïveté.
Desperately needing space, he stepped out of her arms. “Nothing,” he repeated. “There is nothing I can offer you.”
Her skirts fluttered into place about her ankles. “Your heart.” She pressed a hand to her chest. “That is all I need, Tynan.”
A harsh, hard laugh escaped him. “That isn’t going to keep you safe or warm, love.”
“But it would bring me happiness.”
Panic knocked
