Royally Chosen Christmas (Royal Sons MC #7) - Elle Boon Page 0,44
it was perfect from a defensive standpoint, and it had beautiful views with the beach below and only one way in; a gated driveway a mile down the road that only he had access to. He rolled the driver’s side window down, giving Cosmo a wave.
The big white SUV rolled up next to him with Roq now in the passenger seat. Shit he wasn’t sure how the man was able to fit into a normal rig the way he barely did Cosmo’s Escalade. “Thanks for the backup, brothers. Tell King I’ll be at the meeting tomorrow afternoon.” Not that he had a choice since it was a mandatory one or that he planned on missing anyhow. Of course, he’d be bringing Talena with him if he had to handcuff her ass to his side.
“No thanks needed. You want us to set up post outside?” Axl asked from the back.
Hollywood tilted his head to the side, a little surprised at the offer, but then again, the men were loyal to Cosmo, which meant they would be loyal to whoever his brother was maybe? Whatever the reasoning, he appreciated the offer. “Nah, I got it handled.”
Cosmo leaned forward, one hand resting on the wheel. “You sure?”
He was more than sure. The security at the house was like Fort Knox. Of course, there was always the off chance some fucker could get in. Hollywood would deal with that if and when it happened. “Yep. Go home to Tai and take those crazy bastards with you.” He grinned at Roq and Axl. If ever there were men who fit the crazy bill, it was the Demon Security guys Cosmo ran with.
His friend jerked his head up and down once, waiting until his gate opened and closed before executing a turn. Hollywood didn’t wait around to watch Cosmo’s tail lights disappear before he took him and Talena up the long drive to his place. Although he had a suite he’d claimed at the clubhouse, like most of the Royal Brothers, he would always keep his homes, the places he went to when he needed quiet. While he loved the brotherhood, the feeling of belonging, he’d found the solitude with the military suited him. Not that he was looking for solitude as he drove through the huge garage bay doors. The sound of Talena’s swift inhale made him grin. There were very few people who’d been inside his home built into the side of the hill in Malibu, with a staggering price of over forty million. He had land and lush greenery with his own private beach and an infinity pool that didn’t get used nearly enough.
“What did you expect, some kind of mancave complete with a dirt floor and bars on the windows? You know me better than that. Besides I have the bars and chains inside.” He winked.
She slapped his arm, grinning back toward him. “Don’t even try that with me. You know I am fully aware you like your creature comforts as much as the next man. But this...” she pointed toward the garage in front of them.
“What about it?” He parked her Maserati in an open spot, looking around them, wondering what she saw.
“Scott, this space is bigger than most people’s homes, and it’s your garage. And what is the floor made of, marble?” Talena pushed her door open at the same time he did.
He shook his head, laughing at her assumption. “No, it’s not marble. Come on, let’s go inside. You can explore the garage another time,” he told her, steering her toward the door. He’d purposefully parked near the entrance to the house, aware she clearly had a thing for fast cars. “My contractors used a special concrete that looks like marble, but as you can see, it appears to mimic marble. Don’t ask me what because I’ve no clue. All I know was it cost a shitton, but it was worth every penny as it’s easy as shit to keep clean, and it’s aesthetically appealing.”
She stopped walking, staring up at him with wide eyes. “Are you telling me you...you chose the floor of your garage on the grounds of it being pretty or not?”
Hollywood looked down at her, watching her lips twitch. He’d felt emotions tonight he’d never thought to experience. Fear, worry, anger, and lust all at the same time. She had been part of his life since the day she’d came home from the hospital as a baby. For years, he’d looked at her as a little
