I’d been jonesing for it all day, and since I couldn’t have it straight from the source, this would have to do.

On her dresser, there was a picture of a young Kat holding a tiny baby Ellie. Kat was all wide-eyed, and maybe a little frightened, and Ellie was pink-faced and angry. The warmth in my chest heated until it was near scalding. It quickly fizzled when I studied the next picture. Veego had his lips on the side of Kat’s head while she laughed. No Ellie in sight, just the two of them. Both young as hell, probably still teenagers. As much as I didn’t like seeing this picture, I couldn’t fault Kat for it. I still had a couple eerily similar ones of Mickey and me in both my houses. Didn’t mean I wasn’t itching to hide it away somewhere.

I flicked on the light to her walk-in closet and stepped inside, running my hands over her soft flannels and sweaters. I might’ve also pressed my nose to the sleeve of one of them, but no one saw it, so it didn’t happen.

A second later, she was in the doorway, her brow raised in amusement. “Molly’s parents picked her up, and Ellie was tired, so she’s in her room for the night.” She took a step inside the closet. “What are you doing?”

Without answering, I gripped the front of her shirt and tugged her against my chest. Once I had her, I ran my nose along her neck and breathed deep.

“Jesus, you smell good.”

Her arms slid around my neck. “You feel good. And you’ve been so good all day. A gentleman.”

Scoffing, I palmed her ass and tilted my pelvis so she could feel just how bad I truly was. “If you could read my thoughts, you wouldn’t say that, Lady.”

“And if you could read my thoughts, you wouldn’t be calling me Lady.’”

Groaning, I let my forehead fall onto her shoulder. “Ah, god, Kat. I’m hard as steel and you’re not playing fair. Think I gotta go home and take care of this before I explode.”

She pushed my head back with both hands, then whipped her T-shirt over her head. “Don’t leave.”

My heart thundered and blood roared in my ears. Not even taking a second to question her, my mouth covered hers, and my fingers worked on unhooking her bra. She mewled into the kiss, like she was as relieved as I was to finally be doing this.

We clawed at each other in silence, stripping away the layers separating us. I still wasn’t sure if I was dreaming, but if I was, I never wanted to wake up.

Kat’s skin was my Neverland. It was magic and pixie dust and never growing old. I could live here, touching her smooth shoulders, sucking her tight little nipples, rubbing my rough fingers over her soft stomach. I was so damn lost in her.
